Foreign policy of Belgium Empty Foreign policy of Belgium

Post by H E X 2015-07-19, 08:54

I'm just interested in what kind of relations Belgium has with other countries. Let's say a new alliance is being formed, who would you pick to be with Belgium?

For me it seems that eBE is a bit 'out of the loop' in this matter.

Belgium has to stick with its best neighbours but most likely not be allowed inside an alliance. Although a satellite on is always an option.

Probably I won't fight for Serbia too much, I have no problem with them except the support they give to their PTO groups. :/

But turning back to the original subject, is there any good relations of eBE which could be revived, and at least achieve to look at us as their friends?

it all depends who is leading the country who we call close allies but I think UK and Germany are the ones that stick out.
We used to have very good relations with Poland and Hungary.

Yup everything depends on who's leading the country.
E.g. Netherlands got NE'd by Germany while we (North Sea Protection Pact) were supposed to be allies.

We won't get attacked by our neigbours I think, we always kept good relations with them even if Netherlands is now pro-Asteria, but again, we have to be realist because they may one day have a CP wanting to wipe us, like France could.

We had good relations with Cuba since we let them AS us for congress until I didn't sign a pact with Japan (and all that story about me and this pact), their fool MoFA understood it as a direct attempt on himself because he worked on a pact (we wouldn't have signed his pact anyway, and the problem we had was about another pact).

So our allies are Chile, UK, Germany, Netherlands (but they are more allies in a friend way than in a military way since their war with Germany), and Macedonia.

Our soil is uninteresting in bonuses which means that oftentimes invaders don't have an interest in sacrificing firepower to keep it. But we are in an interesting position as we border many countries, which means both eBe's neighbors and their enemies have an interest in having a good relationship with us. The downside is that due to our weak firepower we need powerful allies ourselves to enforce that strategic advantage. We couldn't stop eArgentinia to use us as a platform to reach eUK because we didn't have that.

Past relations: Good with UK, Chile, Poland, Macedonia, Germany (although distant) and some other former CoT-countries.

Shifting: Netherlands, according to their political sway of the moment. Also, clash between some eBe'ers like Fhaemita and proeminent figures in their community.

Rather bad: France, Montenegro, Japan (I guess you know why for the last two).

Only problem who has a problem with me and some others was Van Spijck/M. de Ruyter, he (ab)used his position to fight out a personal vendetta because I outted his PTO plans long long time ago.
