Are you sure it wasn't all the beer you were passing around after elections?

If this means everyone will have high regions, doesn't that decrease the real value of high regions?
No, because as you can see, the more high regions you have the higher your productivity will be, so strong countries will invade countries => Belgium is doomed

So the new regions are in play. Belgium will have a high fruit region (Brussels), a high fish region (Flanders) and a high iron region (Wallonia).

I think war will come soon now.

Actually the word high is gone now
It's simply fruit region, fish region, deer region,...

I've checked the world map for these new RM and this is my conclusion:
Saltpeter, Rubber, Oil, Deer and Aluminium will be the most wanted RM, they are the most rare, the other are more common and almost every country will have one
Why is Scandinavia only having a few Deer regions? It should be full over there Very Happy

Also, be keep some money in reserve as we will have to use it to rent regions

Grain companies can still produce Grain. They won't benefit from the 25% grain production bonus unless that country conquer a high grain region.

region wise we are in fact pretty good

- high iron means we could export raws easily
- the other two give +10% to our food economy, which is nice indeed.

if we could rent a region, grain would be an absolute priority (+25% grain production and +5% foood production), after that, I'd suggest filling up the food bonusses if the rent is worth it. France has quite some grain regions spare, but I can imagine that their allies get first choice.

concerning our neighbours: they all have iron but the NL, they all have fruit but the british and the NL and they all have fish. so only NL could rlly see an advantage in taking our territories (UK will prolly try to get irish fruit or so Laughing or just will rent it from france)

If the new rules are implemented then yes
We pay an amount of gold to France
We open a war with France (or we pay France to open one with us because it's cheaper
We attack Champagne Ardenne, after conquer it we take Burgundy, France attacks Champagne Ardenne, and voila, we're done and we have our own rented grain region

France, USA, Lithuania and Ukraine have most grain regions when I take a quick look
Also Croatia, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Poland, Belarus, Slovakia and Romania have some grain regions

Havent you seen the "we pay france an amount of gold"-part?
We rent one region of them

And if we do it good we can even lower the costs
What if we take a grain region bordering Burgundy and take the Netherlands behind us

So we take Champagne, while the Netherlands take Wallonia
We take Burgundy while The Netherlands take Champagne
We take next grain region while The netherlands take Burgundy and Wallonia and Champagne get RW
We sign peace with the Netherlands and France

So The Netherlands only have to declare war on us, and avoid the cost of signing war to France
We could let the Netherlands pay a part of our declaration of war to France

And the new rules would say that attacking regions doesnt cost any gold anymore so we would only have to pay for declaration of war and the rent

Although the laissez-faire policy worked quite good up to now, keeping prices around 0.07 - 0.09 BEF, this is indeed really out of control.

I have reopened eBE Grain in Slovakia to offer cheaper grain on the market. This is not about making any profit with it, but about offering against a decent price.

germany was giving away hamburg region some time ago to slovenia for almost no money compensation.
iran is giving to bulgaria, serbia gave bosnian region to bulgaria etc. and lets not forget ukraine giving podolia to hungary.
the other possibility is of course military occupation, than you can have region for free Twisted Evil
the ultimately most famous being of course the lion king in china being taken and kept for almost a year by serbia. before that it was hello kitty by hungary. just remember the epic fight Cool

Did anyone try to reason with the grain producers yet? I mean, remind them about conscience and fair play and stuff like that. I know it sounds like a far fetched hippy rambling plan, which probably won't have any effect at all, but maybe worth a shot... It can't be all about greed, can it?

as far as I've spoken with people and read articles it seems the same crisis is more or less everywhere, so the whole world will have to come up with some reasonable solution.

We are waiting for one of the developers to give his password so we can change everything

Grain producers will lower their prices, but now they wanna grab as much money as possible
But eventually when food producers run out of money and only few are left and 75% of the food companies have their own grain company, then 100% grain producers have to deliver to 25% food producers
So: too much grain on the market => lowering of prices => more food companies => next admin faillure => and everything all over again
