Where's your decency eBelgium ?

Disclaimer : I know this thread will more then likely end up in the same flamewars but regardless...
This thread is here to ask all of you to show the decency that I consider minimal to be able to hold a correct political debate. I'm not interested in listening to who did what and when it all happened. The only thing that interests me is that you bring your ideas in a constructive way and learn to accept that people may disagree with you. Or even better, learn to put your money where your mouth is.
It is one thing to disagree, it's another to just whine in circles. Quite frankly, I find it rather catastrophic that people here accept this kind of behavior. Last I checked I didn't register for an ePreschoolsim and I'm not impressed by boardflooding.
Re: Where's your decency eBelgium ?
What do you mean with put your money where your mouth is? Those with the most money have the most right to speak? Or what do you mean?
Strange idea...

I don't understand what this means either, but I agree with Nohjis.

This is an expression in English :
In French : Il est temps de joindre le geste à la parole
In Dutch : Voeg daden bij uw woorden

That explains a lot. If so I always put my money where my mouth is.

totally agreed nohijs.
You're not obligated to agree on everything, but a civil debate, which consist out of more than "the current CP is even worse then the other" and "the CP is bad because I say so", should be held in place.

I haven't said anywhere that the CP is bad or whatever. I have however made objections to stuff.
And actually most people who did say the above made it clear why they say it.

Maybe you should reread your posts.
crazy behavior, disrespect for the congress, acting on his own,...
That sounds like someone you think is doing a great job.
come on avegan, you're better than this.

I agree Nohjis, time to move on in a positive way. I just hope that everybody will be on that same line.

On the same line? What line is that? I am for ALL eBe citizens and not just a few.
Maybe the CP should do the same...

I would like to see the other side do the same rather than just claim they want unity and constructive posts.

There are enough of us who agree about this. Let's make it happen!

You have to remember people have the right to object ideas, make ideas and agree with ideas. It's what determines most crap ideas from others. If anyone went with the ideas they had themselves and everyone agreed, this game would be screwed.

Re: Where's your decency eBelgium ?
It is not the difference in ideas that is the problem, Mikhail. We do need people with different ideas and perspectives. It makes us richer and wiser as a nation and as individuals. The problem is that the fighting has nothing to do with real ideas. It is about personalities and who is more powerful than whom, and that is anything but constructive.

Just stating something here, even though Communism was a fail, the idea of equality was an excellent idea however in this case we have to follow these stereotypes. The President is the most important person in the country and you need to follow it, no matter how much you hate the person. Followed by congressmen, cabinets members and finally citizens. People shouldn't be more important then others unless a reason is given behind it. You are correct though, countries become wiser and learn from mistakes from making up different and sometimes abstract ideas.

Re: Where's your decency eBelgium ?
To be clear, this was an appeal to all eBelgians here, MaryamQ gives my exact idea in the post above. When a disagreement has nothing to do with ideas but is only about personalities you can't move forward because all you end up doing is trying to obstruct other ideas without even considering them.
The point is, we're all participating in a game trying to simulate political life in an imaginary country and while short term personal disputes can be part of your pleasure, making them permanent is a dangerous route to take. People either sit together and eventually move on or move away, choosing a third option will always end up with a lot of trouble. If this is the place you want to be in, then by all means, try to move on.
I respect each of you individually and will find positive sides to all of you. Perhaps you've noticed that in most debates I participate in, I ask people's opinion when I don't feel there's a motivation to what they've said. That when I disagree with you, I will give you a more or less elaborate version of my opinion. That when I feel you contradict yourself, I will show you where. What I believe is that just shouting and kicking louder doesn't help.
The whole point is : Don't look at what others are doing wrong and then find a way to do worse. Be respectful of the opinion of others, you may bring your arguments in the debate why you don't agree and have confidence that congress members who are not participating in the debate do read and have a mind of their own to make a decision.
There are a bunch of idealists here that do clash from time to time which is only normal. Next to that we have a few sceptics which are very good for democratic debate as they bring in all possible counterarguments. But when the sceptics don't bring in counterarguments or when idealists stop listening to risks, a country will lose the middle. Some will be pushed into "sides" and others will just move away. I do hope we can revert this movement together in the coming weeks.
To end with, just one thing :

I agree i would like it to be like this. That being said it gets to that point through lack of information and a huge lack of both sides listening to each other.

And personnally attacking each other. You can't just talk to someone who insults you, unless you've got a hell of a self-control.
