Unfortunately, I didn't find evidence of dope. No bonus for me then this time... Sad

Just one report jumps out... I won't disclose the name, because... well, strictly it isn't dope, so I respect his privacy.

... but Lab Report 06-1-03499 is pretty long.

The least difficult stage today? Ask the sprinters who will have to battle for the green jersey.

Critically goes on a one-man trip today. That will be very hard, can he keep this up for 218km?

Just before the supersprint, he gets caught. The supersprint will be something else than previous days, because it's only 26km to the finish.

But the sprinting table is too exciting for the moment, so all the sprinters are in the front.

NLSP takes it and has so the virtual lead in the table.

Result:

1. NLSP 20 4. El1temkd 13 7. MaryamQ 9
2. Johny English A 17 5. Helviro 11 8. Critically 8
3. Fhaemita Malodorous 15 6. Nohjis 10 9. Cotarius 7

Only 20km left...

With two kilometres to go, it seems it will be a organized sprint.

300m... Waiting

275m... Fhaemita on the other side of the road!

200m... Everybody is trying to follow Fhaemita

100m... No, they were too surprised, Fhaemita Malodorous is the party animal today.

Result:

1. Fhaemita Malodorous
2. Johny English A +0"
3. NLSP
4. MaryamQ
5. Cotarius
6. El1temkd
7. Helviro
8. Nohjis
9. Critically

Standings:

1. MaryamQ
2. Helviro +7"
3. Nohjis +18"
4. Johny English A + 29"
5. NLSP +1'02"
6. El1temkd +1'07"
7. Critically +1'23"
8. Cotarius +1'36"
9. Fhaemita Malodorous +3'12"

Green jersey:

1. Johny English A 301
2. NLSP 298
3. Fhaemita Malodorous 279
4. El1temkd 232
5. MaryamQ 230
7. Helviro 212
6. Critically 210
8. Cotarius 191
9. Nohjis 176

Mountain jersey:

1. Cotarius 7
2. NLSP 3
3. MaryamQ 2
4. Nohjis 1
5. Critically 1

JEAN-FRANÇOIS PESCHEUX’S ANALYSIS : An appearance by the favourites

“We are starting to get to the heart of the matter now. There is a second-category col, the Croix Saint-Robert, before the finish. The route is lumpy (as you would expect as we’re in the Massif Central) and will start to take a toll on the legs. However, the favourites rarely lose the Tour on a stage of this kind. But that might happen if there’s a lot of action and one of them ends up struggling with some kind of problem. If that does occur, then the race will really be on. That said, it’s on stages of this type that the sprinters fall back in the overall standings and the favourites climb towards the leading places.”

Should have won that stage, was realy surprised by Fhaemita... I'll be more carefull next time...

Although better in sprints, hopefuly i'll stay in touch with the 100% climbers thanks to the overall skills... Not to many cobblestones coming up i hope... :-)))

It would be a pity to lose the green in the final sprint though.

Yeah... Forgot about that in the biginning :-(( Thought about it later, but it was a bit to late...

Should have tried to gains some seconds/minutes advance on the others, with one or more solo/2 people "echape" (helped by sprinting + overall skils). But I guess wind was to strong... ;-)

The first "col" of the tour today, will it bring some changes in the general standings?

And it's Fhaemita on the attack today. Helviro tried to escape too, but the lead of MaryamQ is too small to let him go. Will Fhaemita hang on untill the supersprint? Important points for the green jersey there.

65km behind us and Fhaemita takes the only point on la côte d'Evaux le Bains. He has a 5' lead on the peloton.

Fhaemita has enough lead to get to the supersprint alone. In the peloton Johny English A wins the group sprint.

Result:

1. Fhaemita Malodorous 20 4. El1temkd 13 7. MaryamQ 9
2. Johny English A 17 5. Cotarius 11 8. Critically 8
3. NLSP 15 6. Helviro 10 9. Nohjis 7

La côte du Rocher des trois Tourtes is also a point for Fhaemita. His lead is now 3'.

The first 2nd category climb of the tour: le col de la Croix Saint-Robert. Will someone lose connection with the peloton?

First thing to happen is the end of the breakaway. Fhaemita immediatly goes out of the peloton. Next one to break is NLSP. Then Johny English A! The sprinters can forget their points of the day.

Nohjis and El1temkd have some trouble keeping up, because MaryamQ increased the pace. She's first over the climb, followed by Cotarius in his mountain jersey, Critically and Helviro.

A slight downhill brings us to the Super-Besse. this third category climb will decide who wins the stage.

It's Critically with an attack! Only 5km left. Helviro and Nohjis are having trouble.

With 3,5km to go they regroup as it's a slight downhill.

1,5km... El1temkd! Cotarius and Critically follow. MaryamQ hesitates...

1km... MaryamQ attacks, but that's probably for 4th place.

500m... Cotarius now on the attack.

150... Oh, he falls back.

Critically takes it!

Result:

1. Critically
2. Cotarius +2"
3. El1temkd +6"
4. MaryamQ +25"
5. Helviro +57"
6. Nohjis
7. NLSP +2'24"
8. Johny English A
9. Fhaemita Malodorous +4'05"

Standings:

1. MaryamQ
2. Helviro +39"
3. El1temkd +48"
4. Nohjis +50"
5. Critically +58"
6. Cotarius +1'13"
7. Johny English A + 2'28"
8. NLSP +3'01"
9. Fhaemita Malodorous +6'52"

Green jersey:

1. Johny English A 329
2. NLSP 326
3. Fhaemita Malodorous 308
4. El1temkd 267
5. MaryamQ 258
6. Critically 248
7. Helviro 239
8. Cotarius 234
9. Nohjis 198

Mountain jersey:

1. Cotarius 11
2. MaryamQ 7
3. Critically 5
4. NLSP 3
5. Fhaemita Malodorous 2
6. Nohjis 1
7. Helviro 1

JEAN-FRANÇOIS PESCHEUX’S ANALYSIS : Made to measure for a strong man

“This is a long stage with a very up-and-down profile particularly as it features the Pas de Peyrol and the first-ever ascent of the Col de Perthus. Except for the opening 50km, it’s just climbs and descents all of the way. It’s a real leg-breaker. And if the action really takes off then there certainly won’t be 100 riders coming in together to contest the finish. It’s the kind of stage that should suit Sylvain Chavanel. Last year he won the stage at Les Rousses in the Jura when there were numerous attacks. On this stage, a group containing one of the race’s strong guys could get clear, which could in turn set off any number of counter-attacks, especially as a stage like this is never easy to control.”

The fight for the green jersey is the most interesting one looking at it as a TT specialist. I'm curious how you'll get through the toughest mountain stages given you're already over 6 minutes late in a relatively easy stage (only problem was the final climb really).

The first stage where you will think "crazzzzzy pale ".

3x 3category climbs, 3x 2category climbs and 2x 4category climbs with the finish on the last 4th category climb.

This means it will be an important day for the mountain jersey.

And what did you expect? Cotarius doesn't let anyone get away. Let's hope for him nobody else has put his sight on the mountain jersey.

Côte de Massiau, 3rd category... Oops, Helviro takes the points, Cotarius one. A bad guess from Cotarius?

Col du pas de Peyrol, 2nd category... a slow pace, but even then Fhaemita is having trouble to keep up. He manages to stay in the group untill the top where it's first MaryamQ, Cotarius, Helviro, El1temkd.

Col du Peirthus, 2nd category... Fhaemita is out of the group now, still 100km to go. That will be hard. On top: Cotarius, Helviro, MaryamQ, NLSP.

Col de Cère, 3rd category... Helviro in front of Johny English A

Col de Prat de Bouc, 2nd category... Still the same group at a slow pace. If they keep this up, Fhaemita will be able to finish in time.
MaryamQ, Helviro, Cotarius, El1temkd on top.

Don't forget there's a supersprint: NLSP wins it, before Johny English A.

1. NLSP 20 4. MaryamQ 13 7. Cotarius 9
2. Johny English A 17 5. Nohjis 11 8. El1temkd 8
3. Critically 15 6. Helviro 10 9. Fhaemita Malodorous 7

Côte du Château d'Alleuze, 4th category... Cotarius takes back 1 point.

Last 1,5km... Will the race have worn out NLSP and Johny English A, or will they battle for victory? It's not a hard climb, so it seems it will be a sprint.

1km... Will the others just give away the sprint?

500m... MaryamQ launches a long sprint!

250m... NLSP is out for victory, Johny English A can keep up, but only just.

MaryamQ takes it with a last "jump"!

Result:

1. MaryamQ
2. Johny English A
3. NLSP +3"
4. Helviro
5. Cotarius
6. El1temkd
7. Nohjis +7"
8. Critically
9. Fhaemita Malodorous + 6'30"

Standings:

1. MaryamQ
2. Helviro +42"
3. El1temkd +51"
4. Nohjis +57"
5. Critically +1'05"
6. Cotarius +1'16"
7. Johny English A + 2'28"
8. NLSP +3'04"
9. Fhaemita Malodorous +13'22"

Green jersey:

1. Johny English A 371
2. NLSP 368
3. Fhaemita Malodorous 324
4. MaryamQ 301
5. El1temkd 290
6. Critically 274
7. Helviro 268
8. Cotarius 260
9. Nohjis 222

Mountain jersey:

1. Cotarius 23
2. MaryamQ 20
3. Helviro 13
4. Critically 5
5. NLSP 4
6. Fhaemita Malodorous 2
7. El1temkd 2

JEAN-FRANÇOIS PESCHEUX’S ANALYSIS : A transition stage towards the Pyrenees

“As the race heads towards the Pyrenees, we will be heading through the Cévennes for two days. These stages are rolling, but lack any significant difficulty. But the heat can take a toll on the riders. The breakaway specialists will be dreaming of victory, as will the specialist sprinters, even though the latter are going to spend the whole day suffering because today’s route is not all flat. After the first rest day, those riders who have not had a good first week and think that they won’t have too many chances beyond this will be determined to show themselves. However, at the same time, the sprinters’ teams will not want to let them slip away. Consequently, we could well see this stage finish in a bunch sprint.”

Maybe Helviro should join team LP Health Bars Inc. I get a complimentary two health packs for each race from the team !

Like this (and so like the Olympics) exactly, not in the near future. Maybe later, or if someone wants to create a new one.

A big game will be launched wednesday, so you can win 2 gold. Better than a yellow jersey, ey?

there might be a hidden one, but haven't used it yet (if yes would have won that); was only planning to use it on the cobblestones of Champs Elysees ... and maybe on the time trial before that Wink

To the Pyrenees! But not after a hilly stage, but at least the sprinters will have a chance in today's race.

Early supersprint, nobody was able to leave the peloton yet. Just after a downhill, Johny English A takes the most points.

1. Johny English A 20 4. MaryamQ 13 7. Cotarius 9
2. Fhaemita Malodorous 17 5. Nohjis 11 8. El1temkd 8
3. NLSP 15 6. Helviro 10 9. Critically 7

The hills are nearby, which means Cotarius attacks. Helviro goes with him, just as El1temkd.

No reaction from the peloton. Fhaemita will save his power, as it will be a hard day again for him. There was noticed Helviro and Nohjis talked a lot in the beginning of the race, just as Cotarius and MaryamQ.

Côte de Figeac, 3rd category. Helviro in front of Cotarius

Just behind that, a 4th category climb: la côte de Loupiac. Yet again, it's Helviro who takes the points.

They now got 2' on the peloton.

Another 3rd category climb. Now it's Cotarius first, in front of Helviro.

With only 40km to go, they have 3'. A chance to take over the yellow jersey for Helviro?

15 km and the final 4th category climb. Helviro takes the point. But Cotarius isn't taking over anymore. Only El1temkd is helping Helviro.

Attack by Helviro! Cotarius reacts, but stays in his wheel. This gives El1temkd the opportunity to attack. And now Cotarius looks to Helviro, they've almost stopped riding! Only 1'30" left.

5km... El1temkd continues to increase his lead on the chasing group.

2km... Helviro and Cotarius are back in the peloton, which decreases its pace. Do they know El1temkd has 1'20"?

And El1temkd wins! NLSP wins the group sprint and celebrates, but after a few seconds he realizes that he hasn't won. A discussion is going on between Helviro and Cotarius...

Result:

1. El1temkd
2. NLSP +1'10"
3. Johny English A
4. Fhaemita Malodorous
5. Critically
6. Nohjis
7. MaryamQ
8. Cotarius
9. Helviro

Standings:

1. El1temkd
2. MaryamQ +19"
3. Helviro +1'01"
4. Nohjis +1'16"
5. Critically +1'24"
6. Cotarius +1'35"
7. Johny English A + 2'47"
8. NLSP +3'23"
9. Fhaemita Malodorous +13'41"

Green jersey:

1. Johny English A 413
2. NLSP 408
3. Fhaemita Malodorous 360
4. El1temkd 328
5. MaryamQ 327
6. Critically 298
7. Helviro 287
8. Cotarius 280
9. Nohjis 248

Mountain jersey:

1. Cotarius 26
2. MaryamQ 20
3. Helviro 18
4. Critically 5
5. NLSP 4
6. Fhaemita Malodorous 2
7. El1temkd 2
8. Nohjis 1
9. Johny English A 1

JEAN-FRANÇOIS PESCHEUX’S ANALYSIS : An opportunity that can’t be missed

“After this stage the sprinters will not have a lot of chances left to show off their skills. They will have just two stages left on which to shine: in Montpellier and then in Paris with the finish on the Champs-Élysées. That’s why their teams will undoubtedly be looking to keep a tight rein on the action, just as they will do on the previous stage. But they will have to watch out. Riders of the ilk of Sandy Casar or Jérôme Pineau could try to pull off something spectacular today. The profiles of the stages that follow won’t allow them to do that. And, as there will still be a lot of teams that have not won a stage up to now, those that haven’t will be aiming to make an impression.”
