Re: The tennis tournaments...
We already go away from the last spot in teams, can't do everything all at once now Bok
Re: The tennis tournaments...
Well, we got into the last spot in teams. But we did have a lovely time exploring Toronto!

Re: The tennis tournaments...
Final doubles US Open:
El1temkd/Tecuvo vs. Nohjis/Boklevski
Team 2 has clearly adapted their tactics after Toronto. They now make more use of the left hand-right hand advantage. They win the first two sets by this. Team 7 is not quite impressed and returns in the game with another set win. But team 2 has the motivation and shows the crowd who's the best.
Result El1temkd/Tecuvo vs. Nohjis/Boklevski: 4-6, 4-6, 6-3, 2-6
Congrats!

Report final singles US Open:
Sammy Tanghe vs. Ahakas
Great play by Sammy, who surprises Ahakas with such hard hits. Ahakas has to get in a defensive position all the time. Not his favourite tactic and altough Sammy's stamina is lowering and so the amount of hard hitted balls lowers, Ahakas is not able to win a set.
Result Sammy Tanghe vs. Ahakas: 6-4, 6-3, 6-4
Congrats!

9th overall...
Well, I should be the substitue player for the Masters (like in real) and replace an injured guy (in this case Pertazeta, since he left eBelgium and those forums).
What do you think?

nice reasoning, johny
fhaemita, we've done nicely, a very good start at the beginning, but we just didn't got that firt spot. nd spot doubles ain't that bad though, and there was no price anyway :p
and happy I just managed to get in the masters ^^

C'mon Cotarius. Let's go find Procuste and see if she has some extra vegetables to throw at the Masters competition.

Re: The tennis tournaments...
Report final Masters:
Sammy Tanghe vs. Bert_en_Ernie
Great start from Bert_en_Ernie. The serve-and-volley technique surprises Sammy completely and he loses the set fairly easy. But then the wit of Sammy comes up. He changes the match completely. He uses several aggresive techniques. Bert_en_Ernie isn't made for these situations and loses his cool. 2 rackets are getting smashed, and because of the frustrations, the match is won by Sammy Tanghe.
Result Sammy Tanghe vs. Bert_en_Ernie: 2-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-1
Congrats!

Re: The tennis tournaments...
How disappointing to not have reached semi finals... It was a tough group with Ahakas and Fhaemita in there but I'm glad to have taken home the number 1 position after a wonderful season.
Re: The tennis tournaments...
Thanks, Cooke. I gained a new appreciation for vegetables.

Re: The tennis tournaments...
great game all
ended twice both in singles and team. Not bad, I'd say :p although if I had won 100 points more somewhere I would have beaten nohjis ... ah well :p

Re: The tennis tournaments...
Thanks a lot Cooke for the entertainement... And for all the racketts you made me break on those courts
Had fun, but...
Next time just tell as in advance you prefer Netplayers ... Were your idols McEnroe, Edberg, Ivanisevic, Henman, Rafter?
Out of the top 8 singles players there are 5 Netplayes (I count B&E as one, although he stated himself as hard hitter, since he made it clear in the beginning he would play Serve and Volley = Netplayer, + atributes on serve and volleys)
In RL, if you look at the ranking, the first real netplayer is ranked no 16 (Feliciano Lopez); and even himself dosen't do it all the time...
Actualy, in modern tennis, there are almost no real netplayers left (unfortunetly, cause i find that game very spectacular): all the best players developed to strong and well placed passingshots in order to "take the risk" of always going to the net. Now players go more at the net at unexpected moments ("a contre-temps"), or to end a point when they were previously really able to get there oponent completly out of balance with a very good baseline hit...
Even Federer, such a classy and so good overall player dosen't go at the net that often anymore (and even at Wimbledon!!!) cause Nadal's, Djokovic's, Murray's, Berdych's (and other's) passing shots became so damn good...
It's a pitty, but that's the way it is...
Maybe then, in a way, it's good that at least in eBelgium tennis, the netplayers have such a big succes...
Anyway, thanks again for all your time
