Party President Elections sold ?

Post by RooieLente on 2013-01-16, 08:45

It seems the stakes are high in these party president elections. High enough for backroom tactics to be employed.

Anyone else received an offer to change party, vote a certain candidate, return to your party and receive 15 7Q weapons ?

I wonder how thrustworthy these elections will prove to be ?

I haven't...

Sometimes it's a tactic used against PTO-threat (Party Take Over). If some people that might be interested in taking over the country (to do so, you'll need a lot of people, party president-ship in a top5 party gives you the right to make a congress list, with congressman you can hand out citizenship to other PTOers and before you know it, you've got a lot of foreign dangers coming up).
Nonetheless, if there would have been such a PTO-threat, I think we should hold it back as a community, not with some backdoor tactics no one knows about (unless you're PM'ed).

Please name who did that so we can take appropriate measures.

@NFR against PTO-threat are not conducted like that. That's in fact a PTOer tactic.

Well, not that tactic in the sense of "you bribe them with big weapons". But the tactic of moving thrustworthy citizens in order to stop a clear PTOer from becoming PP, that happens/happened.

15 q7 weapons?
For which candidate do I have to vote? :p

Changing party for vote it is something normal in this game (until the admins change the rules).
Some people also use multies (which may be banned later, but rarely their votes are stripped form the count).
Other people offer weapons, money or gold for a vote.
That's why parties make deals with other parties to secure their own party president elections, if they feel that multi-lords or vote-buyers may take over their party.

PS, me saying that it exist doesn't mean I approve it. But as Tony said, it's hard to ban out. One simple way: make those who buy votes known and don't vote for them. (buying votes =/= anti takeovers, ofc)

I think he sent that because AVegan and Zangetsu had an equal amount of vote, and in that case it is the most experienced player winning (=AVegan). That's why the pro-Zangetsu's were desperately seeking for one last vote imo.

Thank you for that screenshot Wink

@Yannis NO, he was running for PP and wanted to win against Jofroi, from the beginning he wants power. He already let in a friends of him without approval.

Nothing to do with HOPE, it's about the Ohmparty (which just hit top 5 this month). Apparently Hoso and Cosmin aren't that good mates, since they didn't manage to hold together the votes. Which gave Jof the chance to get Ohm PP.

GJ on the screenshot, Lente. If Jof doesn't make PP, we really should get a national effort to avoid them getting in Congress...

Edit: All been said, apparently Very Happy

Maybe they didn't manage because they DIDN'T WANT to hold together the votes.
They're both members of pro-EDEN military units, that's true. But two different MUs, with different goals and different methods.
