Kylero for CP

Post by Kylero on 2013-06-30, 21:42

Ladies and gents,

It is clear that we have problems in our nation. Some would like to see it in black and white. What I mean by this is that there are apparently two groups: Establishment/Elites versus PTOers/Cheaters. I'll explain, as I see it, the common misconceptions of members often associated with each group.

Establishment/Elites:

These are the players that have been in eBelgium for quite a while. But that's not always the case. Some are new to eBelgium, but enter already known by trusted players, so they are associated with this group. Some are players who used to be very active in eBelgium, but have since moved to other nations.

These players are perceived to be very active on the forum and IRC. They are consistently elected to Congress, PP, and CP. They are often always involved in the Cabinet, just roles are sometimes changed. There's always an "up-and-coming" player from this group who just falls into the Presidency.

This group is viewed by its detractors as pompous and controlling. Players in this group often follow forum-established rules and expect others to do the same. However, the other group believes that these rules only serve to protect their dominance over eBelgium; that they make the rules and break them when it is convenient for them.

PTOers/Cheaters:

Members of this group are often put here by association. These players want to do things differently in eBelgium. They think that the established rules are outdated, and do not accept the procedures to change them because they think those procedures are not legitimate.

They are perceived by other players as dangerous to the established order of eBelgium. They are often suspected of PTO and cheating. They defend themselves by explaining that PTO is allowed by game mechanics, and the negative stigma associated with PTO is inappropriate. They believe that one man's PTO is another man's reform.

So who's right?

Well nobody really. One group thinks that the way to reform is through established procedures. The other thinks that the established procedures are not legitimate, and therefore want to reform eBelgium through other means. This creates tension and distrust. Names are thrown around and reputations are dragged through the mud.

Cool story, bro...now what?

Okay, so if you've read up to this point, you may start to see the conundrum; the disconnect between how we, as a society, can get from A to B. We have a Constitution, we have laws on the forum. I think at times we can ALL agree some of the laws are outdated and unclear. In fact, there are many things we can all agree on, but the trouble is getting there.

What I am proposing is a plan for eBelgium, a Comprehensive Plan for the future!

Larger View

An inclusive dialogue for progress. Representatives from each party can sit down together (kind of), and discuss a key aspect in our society. We can start anew. But I don't mean to say that we should throw away our laws and Constitution just yet. What I am saying though, is that an open discussion between parties can find common ground. We can open our minds to new ideas and new ways of doing things. We as a people control our destiny, and I know we can put aside our differences and have opposing viewpoints discussed in a nonconfrontational manner.

If a Party chooses not to participate, well then what can you do. But let's try. Let's try to move forward. If we don't, here's what you're going to have. One group holding onto power and determining the gameplay quality of a MMORPG for others, and another group CONSTANTLY trying to gain power with a chip on their shoulder.

I believe we need to throw our ideas together and see what we can come up with. If you do too, vote for me for CP!

Re: Kylero for CP

Post by Kylero on 2013-06-30, 21:43

My fellow eBelgians,

I have played this game since 2009. I've seen and done many things. I have been:

Member of Congress 15x
I have been working for eBelgium since we gained independence back in January of 2010. Things were volatile, things were new. I helped write the rules that we now live by, and have worked to make new and old rules make sense. I've worked to ensure fairness in our government and community.

Party President of many parties, many times
I have been PP of many parties in eBelgium. I understand the importance and the needs of party politics. As President, I want to work closely with Party Presidents to have a united front on all aspects in our community.

Minister of National Secuity 2x
As Minister of National Security, I have had over 40 eBelgian Multis removed from the game. I helped improve eBelgium's security, provided an interesting element to our community, and provided our media with many articles to let the community know what I was doing as MoNS.

Minister of Growth and Culture
Once upon a time, I served as Minister of Growth and Culture. With this job, I was tasked with helping new players grow, and to help find ways to build our culture. Perhaps the best thing that came out of this was the Aldous the Meek campaign...

Supreme Court Justice
I have served as a Supreme Court Justice. Heck, I wrote the book on the Supreme Court. Literally, I wrote the law, fought for its passage, and helped reform it along the way to make it work.

CoC-appointed Immigration Officer 2x
I served as the CoC-appointed IO for two terms. I helped investigate citizenship requests. Some of them that I rejected actually turned out to be Multis, something I am proud of.

So now that you're caught up to speed on just what I have done, I want to tell you what I want to do as President.

Military

I have always thought that the military aspect needs some more role-playing items to make the module feel more than just clicking. As CP, I will have my MoD implement weekly awards and showcase them in the media such as "Soldier of the Week" for damage and discipline. More ribbons, more medals, more honor. This will appeal to new players, so we can grow our military and make it fun.

I think we are doing a good job at supplying our troops. I will listen to my commanders in the field to see what else they need, and how the government can provide it.

National Security

eBelgium has never been so secure. We have a robust national security apparatus working day and night to ensure that cheaters are not given a free pass. Multis will continue to be rooted out and reported to Admins. As far as PTOs are concerned, my administration will remain vigilant to all PTO threats. Its important however to understand that not all political enemies are PTOs.

Economy and Finances

The government should keep a close eye on what what it spends versus what it takes in. If more money is needed, we should come up with new ways to get it. For our future's sake, we can't just spend for spending's sake. My administration will continue to play the Monetary Market to make money.

As President, I will listen to business owners to see what they want. If they think the tax structure should be revised, we will explore that.

Culture and Justice

As President, I will have my Minister of Growth, Education and Culture write educational articles and help noobs in general. As usual.

As for justice, I will see to it that our community rules are followed and wrong-doers punished. My Administration will operate within the law at all times, setting a standard for all following Presidents to adhere to.

I aspire to unify our nation. I am not an "establishment" candidate, and I am not a "PTO" candidate. I can bring us together. Voting for anyone else will result in the status quo of petty in-fighting and deep suspicion. We're better than that.

So here is another article that will hopefully help you make an informed decision on who is best to vote for. I am a dedicated eBelgian who will work hard to ensure that eBelgium, the last great place in the New World, remains free, safe, and active.

Katy says to vote for me, so...you probably should Wink

Good luck Kylero.

Just one thing... Spend for the sake of eBelgium, the treasury puts the country at risk to be targeted by actual PTO groups (let in by legitimate eBelgians) and is the actual obstacle between the elites and the opposition. I'm in favor of what should be known as "the GoopyPants doctrine", spend it so that everyone can share whatever "fake power" they believe there is in a CP seat or a Congress majority.

To be completely honest, I don't know if I would vote for you or not. As you prove it now you can be creative and constructive, which I appreciate very much, but I also saw a less beautiful side of you in the past. You did things I cannot agree with, like publishing a RL picture of Coryn without his approval to mock him, abuse your moderator rights to change Coryn's post and I saw you make use of insults. I don't really want that sort of things to happen in the middle of your potential term.

I know you're not the only one, Coryn also sometimes does things I find unethical, but I appreciate the fact he admits it, I can understand his reasoning and despite his methods I can embrace his motives. While in whole honesty you're a character I have troubles to understand.

Anyway, good luck and have fun!

Sure I did things I'm not particularly proud of. Perhaps I made it too personal after he sent voters to RB just so I couldn't win, when I should have. I'm over it, he's over it. I left congress and started a new party, he stole a MU and left the country. It is what it is.

Personally I don't think any of the candidates are really any good. For all I can good think of good examples not to vote for them.
For instance with Elynea as CP communication would be a problem seeing she doesn't always properly understands what's said in English, Kylero like Yannis explained has a history of abuse including extorting new citizens only few months ago, SwaqqCoryn is too inexperienced and too inactive and his stance on the PTO is a danger for the country etc etc. I hope a good candidate will come up before the deadline.

Fhaemita. I don't know what you're talking about when u say extorting. If you're talking about what I did as MoNS, that was sanctioned by the CP and everyone involve in security. I was just doing my job.

As for not working or training, that does not represent inactivity. You might recall LIly Jayne Summers having a similar situation. She got elected.

Well you did extort as posted here. Besides your argument why you did and how it would expose multies was extremely flawed.

Yes, and I said the same thing when she ran. I warned eBE that she just wanted the CP medal and would leave the country and quit the game, and guess what she did exactly that. A CP should be an active ingame and not just out of the game. If you can't even bother with doing the bare minimal what kind of CP will you be?

Didn't know it was a requirement to train and fight. I am active in game, just not in those ways. Yup, Lilly left, I'm still here. I've always been here. I really don't understand why you even care what happens here. Don't make me out to be some unstable bad guy. There is nothing bad that will become of eBe if I'm elected. But as usual I probably won't be because of people like u popping in and kicking up old dirt instead of seeing my vision for eBe. Lets not reward creativity or nothing...

Kylero, I really do appreciate the creativity of your program, but I'm really curious.  How can you be active in-game without working, training or fighting?

Fhae, I understand your concerns, but Ely is running with me as co-CP partly to overcome that communication problem, and Coryn has published a government that at least shows he has tried to put some experienced players around him.

In: http://www.erepbelgium.com/t7604p50-cp-november you said, "Ok, I had critique on LJS because of her lack of activity in-game but I want to keep it real and also look at her opponent Kylero. He has really been active in-game either. Only 5 days ago he began to fight again rest of the month he's been two clicking."

So I was two-clicking (fighting, training) and you said that wasn't enough. Now you say that I should two-click (fight and train) to be CP. I am sorry sir, but I enjoy the political part of the game. I will NEVER be a battle hero. I will NEVER be a company owner/mogul. But I have been a Congressman, PP, SC Justice, IO, MoNS, and I hope to be a CP. You (until you resigned) like to be a military commander. Sweet, you like to order people around in a game. I write articles, I promote a culture (Zamiatinism, national holidays). I promote fairness (multi-hunting, equal application of the law). Do you know what happened to me when we went to war with France and I suggested we give more supplies? Something similar to what you did. Someone called me a free-loader, as if I was only thinking about myself.

MaryamQ, I know you want this "Two women" thing to go through, and I know you want to remain in power somehow, so I doubt I'll change your mind. But frankly, Elynea will be a part-time leader, and nothing will get done. I really think the real choice is between Swaqq and I. Swaqq can be seen as a bridge candidate but more on "the other side", if you trust his intentions (I think I do). I think I could also be a unity candidate because I want to open the national discourse to all voices, but also recognize the need for order and civility.

Re: Kylero for CP

Post by MaryamQ on 2013-07-02, 06:32

Actually, Kylero, I don't care about remaining in power.  If you think I do, you do not know much about my present or previous candidacies.  I have never run for CP unless several people asked me to do so for the good of eBelgium.  This month and last month my name was mentioned as a candidate on the ballot, by several people who thought I could do good.  You will note that I did not put myself forward.  Being CP is not a picnic, especially in times of instability such as we are experiencing.  I have done my time twice already, and could have done it again if I chose.  I did not.  That does not prevent me, however, from being an active participant in the affairs of eBelgium, and voicing an opinion when I have one.  If that is holding onto power, it is a power that is available to every other citizen who chooses to wield it.

Also, could you explain what you mean by a part-time leader? Elynea is at least on IRC daily and active on the forum, she has multiple foreign contacts - essential in these times, and she is putting together a team that knows its business and is prepared to do what is necessary, none of which you have demonstrated so far.

i will be honest kylero. For me you are so strict. My goal since the begining you know it : The population.

I'm making all i can and with maryamQ to try to change the situation.
I have never stolen something here, i'm honest, maybe sometimes a little frank.

I try to play for the justice, MaryamQ has the same view.

But you must know one important thing, i'm not a person who will be angry if we are not elected. If Coryn is elected, i will happy too.

When i said we need peace in ebelgium, i really want it.
I saw the program of Coryn and i agree it's a nice one.
You will not see articles from me against Coryn and his campaign.

And sure i will be the first to congrulate him if he is elected.

Well, it's not because I didnt make an article about you (fairplay issue, you know.) that I will allow such lie here.

You shoudnt be the one claiming to change the situation while... You're one of the most toxic player in the game, Elynea, I can screen like 15 of your hate posts on various article in the game.

You, and some other one (from Panda, H.O.P.E as well, I'm not saying otherwise) are hating on constant basis.

I'll be happy if you win too, because of MaryamQ mostly. And the fact I'll be able to work with Efkant. Other then that : your CP article is a lie and I Hope I'll be able to crush you today, even if the number game is against me.

Good luck.
