Minecraft

So Critically has been so kind to open up a minecraft server and we are having a blast
It is on hard survival settings so who dares to join :p

I think I hold the record in times dying...

I've no idea, but I died 11 times already ^^ And only 4 of them are mob deaths :p

We should have a count. I know it exists

A pity i can't play this.

I already have plenty of games and cartography software that drains the life out of my pc.

Maybe later on i would think about it.

The Watchtower
Here is a build of Mittekemuis and I (it's completely mitte her design, I just copied what she did).

The Farm
The Farm is maintained by everyone on the server, we breed animals and harvest carots, potatoes and wheat. We've even a semi automatic wheat field. I didn't include Curly his carrot field.

The Curly-pedo-Bear Base
We allow everyone to have his own base to do what they like. Curlybear chose to build one underground.

The Realm of the Beaver
Yes, there is time for culture in this Kingdom. Franckie joined the server just today and he claimed some land to honour the Beaver Culture.

A Dam, not with the ordinary wood like Beavers do but with coal ores. Because that's how rich Franckie got on his first day.

The Storage Room (WIP)
Mittekemuis is working hard on a Storage Room. I told her that I'ld make it my Throne Room if I could, that's just how majestic it is!

The Mines
Yes, all this requires a lot of resources so we mine like 80% of the time here in the mines, right beneath the Main Base.

The Nether
We have a portal to the Nether and there's an enchantment table there and other portals to other parts of the map. We are also located just beside a Nether fortress, so we got lucky here. Once again, not much pictures, if you want to see it, you should come

There is a limit on the amount of people though, I'm not rich, I can't host a server that allows 100 people on it.

Nice tool.

It seems that my computer meets the requirements.
All i have to do now is save money to buy it. As i am already saving money for other more important stuff, i don't think i'll be able to join the fun for at least 2 months.

Nevermind, fixed it. I guess it can't handle 1500 chickens.

Back online, someone indeed did crash the server.

Looking at getting some dedicated hardware to host it, running it currently on about the same specs as Critically did but it's using quite a bit of cpu power. I'm guessing due to it being hosted on my desktop and having to share the hardware makes it not so fast.

I was on the server when it crashed (Critically too, but afk I think) but I did absolutely nothing that would have made the server crash.

It was lagging since a few hours before it crashed, so I don't know, maybe restarting the server sometimes could help ...

When I hosted the server, it was due to the massive mob spawning that the server lagged and broke. That's because how MC coded mobs as they're not very resourcefriendly.

So someone going afk near a mobspawner or making automatic chicken spawning machines (yes Yannis, I'm talking to you) can break the server.

Having a dedicated machine would be awesome.
