Howdy Belgium
Howdy! I'm Chris Stanwick and am currently planning on a move to Belgium in the next few days. I found in the past that I prefer the community of smaller nations rather than that of the United States, which is prompting my move.
Just in case there is anyone who doesn't know me (I have been on sabbatical for awhile and just recently returned), I've been around for nearly two years now. I started in the US and served in a variety of executive posts and several terms in Congress. After several months, I moved to Australia, where I served in Congress and as the MoFA. I later returned to the United States and served in Congress again, as well as a short tenure as a PP. Then, I retired to Thailand, which at the time had an active population of about five. In Thailand, I served in Congress, as the Minister of Social Services, and commanded a branch of the Thai military. Now, I am back in the United States not doing much of anything, but I'm already getting tired of the community and am ready to retire to a smaller nation again.
I won't colour coat anything either. I admit, my last major ambition in eRep is to become CP. The political module has always been my favourite, and I will avail myself to assisting Belgium in any way that I am able.
I look forward to meeting you all.

Re: Howdy Belgium
A lot of familiar names from the past here! I like that.
I think I'll make the move today rather than wait. There isn't anything else in the US holding me back and you all seem like fine folk. I'll send in my citizenship request when I arrive.

Re: Howdy Belgium
I've been contemplating it since I returned to the US. I get drained very fast with all the crap that happens behind the scenes. I much prefer smaller nations and saw a post by shadowduks about how nice it was in Belgium, so decided to head on over. I arrived in-game about five minutes ago.

Re: Howdy Belgium
Thanks for all the welcomes! It is good to be here in Brussels. I've rolled up my sleeves and am ready to help out in any way that might be needed.
To that extent, I have a few questions. First, where can I sign up for the Belgian military? Second, I cannot find a summary of each of the parties on the forum. Can someone point me in the right direction? Also, realizing that PTO threats are a reality in Belgium, my citizenship request is up and I'm willing to vote for the official Belgian candidate to avoid PTO.

Re: Howdy Belgium
Well, Chris, all active and interested citizens of good will are welcome. I haven't seen whether you are approved by our Minister of Immigration yet, but as soon as you are, I am sure you will get your pass.
With regard to parties, these are the 5 that are active in eBelgium:
Belgium for Belgians is the largest part, and has 53% of our present members of Congress. It is somewhat to the left of center officially, but is not highly ideological. It's PP, temujin94, is our current MoD. You will be able to find the military section lower on the forum, and that is where you will sign up for the Army.
Res Belgica, my own party and that of our present CP, Sammy Tanghe, is also left of center. We have a Q3 food company which we use to try to help the food supply in the country, especially when demand is high.
Belgian Communist Party is the most ideological and farthest left of any of our parties. They have a commune system working to provide grain and food to its members and also to the market.
Free Belgium is small and loosely organized but has some very loyal eBelgians, including Thore Thoreson, our commanding General.
Belgian PT Party - The name speaks for itself, unfortunately. This was formerly the Belgian Independents Party, which had previously been associated with the United Indepdents Party in the eUS.

Hey Chris.
btw, you can't see the military forum yet as you're not a citizen. I'm sure someone with more time and know-how can send you info on how to sign up.

I suddenly realized that I consistently misspell shadow's name. I will have to work on that. My citizenship has been approved, I'm now an official Belgian!
