Be a Translator!
This is a country with 3 official languages with a government which has at least 6 different first languages. While the policy has been that the Language of government is English here, we are firm believers in the policy that no citizen should be left of out of the debate because of language.
The government needs help in two ways
Translating questions, posts, and articles into English so that they can be read and understood by the widest possible audience, many people can read English better then they can write it, and it is much perferable for people to write in the language they are most comfortable with. These translations do not have to be particularly eloquent, using the in built translator in eRepublik Plus and then cleaning up the most unintentionally hilarious parts should be enough.
Translating official government announcements from French or English into as many languages as we can. These translations need to be much better and above all, accurate and clear. People with high fluency in multiple languages would be a godsend here.
If you are interested post below with your name, what languages you can speak and how fluently, i.e.
Ragoth
English: Fluently
Clasical Latin: Read but not right.

Re: Be a Translator!
I agree with you. The persons that I contacted in Wallonia speak more French . Other regions, more English.
I don't speak English every day, and the school is far.

Dutch/English.
That's pretty much the deal.
Some French to translate from, not to translate into.

I'm in the "business" of translating, I'm willing to translate more interesting/international news about your country from English to Romanian, I'm sorry that's all I know. If you need, contact me (just no propaganda articles please). I'm also interested, for posterity, if we can go two-ways and translate some historic articles from French to English.

Re: Be a Translator!
I'm supposed to be (more or less) fluent in Dutch, English and Russian, while being able to understand French, German and Polish. But having quite some responsabilities for the government and my party, I can only volunteer for cases of emergency :/

Ah, an occasion to be useful for eBelgium!
I'm able to translate from french to english, and english to french too of course, with more ease in juridical and political texts. Are there some tests to pass?

When someone says something like that, most of the time, he willingly makes a mistake... just to convince that's true and not an excess of modesty

Re: Be a Translator!
I can say a secret, I have my boyfriend in the microphone and he is patient.
He says to me how I have to write my sentence. He isn't still bald. surprising thing.
When you see many faults, it is because he works and that he isn't there.

That's right, no one can know everything, but one can still know enough people to get any information.

Candidature pour la fonction de Ministre de l'Amusement Phase 1 : Lulz Articles !
DEPUIS LE BUREAU DU PREMIER MINISTRE député :
Et Go!

Re: Be a Translator!
Oups, sorry I didn't know I needed a newspaper for this post ^^' If it's for the credit, really don't mind about it, I'm glad to help and translating texts is good for training!
Of course, if the fact I've a newspaper gives you less work, I'll create one.
And no, this name is universal, can't translate it.

Re: Be a Translator!
I speak fluent Polish, and I understand more Slovak than most Poles. However, since I don't have a Polish keyboard on my computer, I can't write Polish accents, but I can translate things from Polish to English if you want some information.

If you write it on Word first, you can use characters your keyboard don't have and copy/paste in the game.
