Population Blues
Belgium is now below 500 citizens. We continue to lose more then we bring in daily. Regardless of the new changes I don't see how any nation can function well and have a robust economy with only a hundred or two citizens.
Therefore, because I hope to never be forced to side with the eUNL apologists, let's please discuss the best ideas for growing our population, creating a baby boom, etc. We are making an effort to keep new citizens with government programs but what effort are we making to CREATE new citizens (not the Serbian way)
I will start. A year ago Sam the Sound, a Belgian radio DJ promoted eRep on air and as a result Belgium saw a huge boost in population that took months before it receded to pre-Sam levels. Any sort of offline promotion by someone with a large audience will drive people to the game.
Anyone know a DJ in Belgium?

Re: Population Blues
Well, if you asked before then maybe a friend of mine could have mentioned Erepublik on MNM, he was invited to have an interview on the radio talking about games :p
However, what could he possibly say positive about Erepublik?
They have a great community? Thats it
Or maybe, in this game you play like a citizen, however the admins are dictators and promote censorship, if you invest money in it, you'll never know if it will be worth a toothpick after one month
The economic module is changed continously so it is impossible to work decently to become a company Guru
And becoming BattleHero, yeah right, even if you pay hundreds of euros you will never be able to get even close to players like me

I've never understood why people continue to play a game they hate.

Wouldn't solve any problems except that even more peoples would leave the game.
We could try that.shadowukcs wrote:we could also spam -sms Studio Brussel or some other radio station

Re: Population Blues
Television is the best step, if you can make a little ad and air it at a time, like an ad during the news, that would be enough for Belgium to get a babyboom

Re: Population Blues
Maybe... and what will we see, a small babyboom with people who will leave very fast because they can't take their own language. We have to face it, only a small number of the Belgian population is willing to play a game in English. It's not like in other countries like Poland or China were people actually can talk their main language...
eBelgium will always remain a land with not so much native players. We have the chance however to have many active foreigners

Belgium doesn't have to speak English, they can speak in all languages, it would be better for the community and would make the country more interesting

Walloons are tongues haters :p.
And I guess that if u consider non universitarian or people not living close to brussel, the rate of bad english speakers will rise .

Don't know if you can see somewhere from an API how many people were ever born in eBe but I think that's a lot. Should you compare the % of leavers with another country were the spoken language is the national one then you should see a huge difference I think.
A lot of Walloons stop playing this game or go to eFrance so they could speak their mother-tongue. That's just normal.
