My fellow eBelgians,
soon, possibly today, I will attain the right to join a political party in eBelgium.
I have seen the parties that are currently present, looked through their members and their presentations (how brief some may be). I have even been asked directly to join by some already.
I still have not decided yet though, so to all you political animals out there, I ask you: convince me !

We believe in everyone's right to have different opinions! We are one of the most active parties, with around 8 players who are actually involved frequently on the forums and IRC. Not only that, we are new and have already grown so much due to the friendliness of our members.
Although we are communists, it is often confused with real life communism, where communists are "evil". However, in this game, that is not the case. The main idea of our party is to advocate for the equality in everyone... which means that 2-clickers should have as much a voice as active members.
Something else that makes BCP stand out is that we actually have party projects. That means we actually have specific goals we try to accomplish which aren't vague! Currently, we would like to create a commune system so that we can supply members with foods or weapons so that they can grow stronger!

I've been playing for 1 month and a half, so I am also relatively new in the game (compared to others). I never got into a party, so I think being relatively objective, out of political influences.
As you an imagine, I will obviously agree with Bert_en_Ernie : remaining out of political parties is not a shame, it even keeps you away from some bad sides of it (that some players have even become blind about it because they're politicians since too long).
Now, unfortunately, you need to be in a party if you want to be a Congress Member. So if it's one of your goals, you've got the choice between 5 parties.
If you decide to get into one of the existing parties, this is how I see it : you've got 4 parties with determined programs or visions of the game, and you obviously have to personally agree with it to get into it. I will not detail each party's point of vue, I'll let them do it do it.
Or there's the party "Belgians for Belgium" which doesn't have a real conduct line for their candidates, but which prefers letting every member of the party defending its own program or vision of the game. So it's more like a party for "independant politicians".
And besides these 5 parties, you've even got a 6th choice : creating another party.
Well, I hope I'm not wrong, but that's how I see it from outside.
Now, my advice is this : get well informed and be careful about mermaids !! Get into any party, but be sure it fits with your points of vue about the game.

Comme tu peux l'imaginer, je suis évidemment d'accord avec Bert_en_Ernie : rester en-dehors des partis politiques n'est pas une honte, et ça tient même à l'écart de certains mauvais aspects (à propos desquels certains joueurs sont même devenus aveugles, étant politiciens depuis trop longtemps).
Maintenant, malheureusement, si tu veux être membre du Congrès, tu dois être membre d'un parti. Donc si c'est un de tes objectifs, alors tu as le choix entre 5 partis.
Si tu décides de rentrer dans un de ces partis, voici comment je le vois : tu as le choix entre 4 partis qui ont un programme et une vision de jeu bien déterminée, et tu dois donc être en accord avec ça pour les intégrer. Je ne vais pas les détailler, ils le feront mieux que moi.
Ou il y a aussi le parti "Belgians for Belgium" qui n'a pas de vrais ligne de conduite pour leur leurs candidats, mais qui préfère laisser chaque membre de son parti défendre ses propres programme et visions du jeu. Donc c'est plus comme un parti pour les "politiciens indépendants".
Et à coté de ces 5 partis, tu as aussi un 6ème choix : créer un autre parti.
Bon, j'espère ne pas avoir dit de bêtises, mais c'est comme ça que je le vois depuis l'extérieur.
Maintenant mon conseil est : renseigne-toi bien et méfie-toi des sirènes !! Vas dans un parti, et sois sûr qu'il convienne bien à tes points de vue sur le jeu.

Our party bfb was created for the citizens and their interest.
First party in every sense of the word. It takes especially care now with finding new active members to make the country progress. We had difficult moments but we meet the challenge. Several players left to create their personal party, and it's normal.
It's the party of the liberty. Belgium for Belgians is a party independente.
The purposes of this party :
- more citizens active
- a good economy
- try to find new activities for the country (fun, military, ...)
- keep our good relations with others countries
- to have a good constitution (but not so strict)
- to have a good protection (with a good army)
- respect before all things of each citizen
- protection of the BTA (Belgium Training Academy)
- mpp (for the progression of experience and rank)
But especially, keep the freedom to be a citizen. A person who is in the government or in the congress must have the humility and work hard for the country.

all parties have active members in them but personaly BfB is the best as we are the most liberal of them all and we work hard together and we have progressed from the problems of the past

Unlike RL, what party you belong to doesn't really make any difference to your political career. Therefore my one piece of advice (which I give to all new players) is to just join the party with the most people you like in it.
The only real difference between them is their members, so decide based on that.

I agree with shadow, just remain with your friends. Parties are made of friendship more than out of a real program.
By the way, the BfB is nice with their idea of freedom etc, but it gives them some problems due to lack of unity that other parties don't have^^.

Now for the unity, nobody is against the liberty... but politic is propaganda no jofroi?

I know that there are no dictatorship and that politic is all about propaganda (which is why I'm not so good at it ^^).
I know that you don't force anyone to join. But most people join a party because they know who is inside, that's the case for 99% of people I think.
Propaganda is nice, but doesn't help much against friendship^^.

i think more parties is nice, i see a lot of friends in different parties. No problem for me, if the respect is in the place. I don't like to see insults or other things, that's why i'm happy when elections are over.
