A Solution?
Dear eBelgian citizens,
Lately I got the comment that I couldn't be neutral as a Justice, that I am to much involved in the community to be an admin and that I abuse my power regularly.
While I do not agree with these critics, I have been thinking for a while what actions can improve that image of me, since I do not think it is truthful.
The BAF, a project that is close to my heart, is going down rapidly. Soldiers have to spam the general before he starts to answer any questions. Lies are being told to the soldiers, supplies are being cut, the reserve is gone,...
When I ask questions to the general about this, the answer I get is: You are kicked out of the BAF and after asking trough for the real reason he did it, he says: ‘ruining the mojo’.
As a congress member I have done my best to help eBelgium, however the debates are getting less and less constructive and people are not finding arguments for or against an idea, it is all about who supports it and who gets what kind of benefit for it. People claimed that I was only into it for my personal gain, something I forcefully deny.
I have proposed multiple times to give myself serious drawbacks in the hope that people wouldn't be focused on the person (for company loans I publicly announced that I was not going to apply as long as there where other candidates, for BAF supply law I proposed to the writers to explicitly mention that I couldn't be chosen,...), but people will keep believing what they want.
Therefore I have decided to not candidate myself for eBe congress this term and put myself out of active eBe politics. I have been in the past multiple times offered UK citizenship, something that I have refused as many times. However, this time I haven’t refused it and I have accepted UK citizenship by now.
I do hope that this will change the mood in eBE a bit in a positive way!
Now that my interests in eBE are cut down to such a point that I do hope that people will not any longer claim that I have to much benefits with certain rulings in the law.
Once the dust settles in eBe, I may come back to enjoy eBelgium as an active player, in the way I enjoyed it before.
Thank you for understanding,
NLSP

Re: A Solution?
I think it would be better if he abdicated his positions as judge and admin and stayed a Congressman to try and help fix this place instead of running away to the UK. But whatever. We obviously have different ways of thinking.

Functions that give automatic eBe honorary citizenship: Justice, eBe Forum Moderator, Congress Advisor
I must say, I did not see that coming.

Re: A Solution?
Bye NLSP, enjoy your break. Thanks for staying in this community.
To all: it's maybe good to keep in mind what we're doing here. This could be a great place if we helped to keep it attractive.
We would do a great honour to NLSP if we had a serious thought about Belgium's defence strategy and the direction we wish to take as a community.

Re: A Solution?
He's still an admin, Ward. He's still in this community. All he did was ditch Congress and write a tl;dr post on his high horse. He's not going anywhere.

Re: A Solution?
I already said to NLSP on irc, imho and in the eyes nothing really changes.
You might not have citizenship anymore an you might not be congressman anymore but you are still a honorary citizen and still very much active in the community. You proposed a honorary citizenship proposal and right after it passes you leave and get honorary citizenship. These kind of action proposing things in your own advantage only confirms what certain people think of you already.
Although your "attempt to come to the critics" as you called it is noble it doesn't really change anything and I doubt it will persuade people's mind how they think about you. Like I said on irc, people have a certain opinion about people and especially when they dislike somebody and it is hard to change people mind how they think about somebody. People remembered what you have done, and with just action like this people don't forgot what happend and think "Oh, is is actually pretty cool"

From http://www.erepbelgium.com/t4872-honorary-citizen -
"Functions that give automatic eBe honorary citizenship: Justice, eBe Forum Moderator, Congress Advisor"
Judge and Justice is the same, or should we ask a Court ruling about this My dictionary is clear however...
So, as long as a citizen has one of the named functions, even if he has another citizenship, he is legally an honorary citizen imo.
This doesn't withstand the fact that I understand NLSP when he says he's growing tired of this type of arguments.
