jep and the rich can afford it so they get even stronger and better so the gold buyers get another advantage.

That has always been there since they implemented energybars and Q6 weapons.

Re: start to panic
Don't think it's true.
Still, if it's true, I wouldn't have too much troubles with it. I'm looking forward to selling all my energy bars and bazookas and buying Q4 FRM companies with it.
Let the big guys shoot some rockets at each other, I'll build up my production first so I can buy those bazookas later...
... and that's why.tecuvo wrote:
admins will never do this.
the main reason why big players buy huge amounts of gold is because they want to buy energy bars with it.
making a market for energy bars is less money for the admins

Re: start to panic
Well this is going to be an interesting update.
You won't have to wait as long to build zookas so smaller countries can stock pile and buy zookas even off the nation their fighting.
It'll be interesting to see what the average rate is for an energy bar and zooka.

Re: start to panic
Today's maintenance takes longer than usual as some pretty heavy database migrations are involved. Everything is working as planned.
I see words that predict the end of the eWorld!
Database migrations are meant to give problems, and these are "pretty heavy" ones. Oeh, I am glad I have done my training and working already (5th day bonus)

Let's hope they don't loose our data during this transaction. Or perhaps it would be nice that everyone can start from scratch again.

Re: start to panic
Dear Citizen,
As a new step toward stabilizing and bringing back the fun in the economy module, starting today all national currencies will be automatically traded at a fixed exchange rate.
For your convenience, all the various currencies you owned were converted into your current citizenship currency. The conversion rate was computed based on the exchange rates of the bought offers from the monetary market in the last 30 days.
You can see the various currencies that you had before the conversion here: eRepublik.com/en/economy/citizen-accounts
Best Regards,

this seems ridicolous:
I can't buy on foreign market with BEF, Can't buy e.g. Pounds to buy in UK so I have to buy everything in Belgium?

Re: start to panic
for me everything looks ok:
for instance I am in Irleand, and was able to by there some raw materials for 0.23 BEF/piece
so it looks like everything is easier now (every offer is converted automatically in BEF for us in any country we are).

jup i actually like this update, my wage which was polish is now converted into bef, so i guess working abroad lets the company owner lose his currency which i gain at a fixed marketrate in bef.
Now our mission is to find best marketrates for bef set by erepublik to know where belgians work the best.
i love this update

The 50 Q6 tanks I bought in eUS are selling at botprice in eBe. This 40 BEF movement cost for a test will reward me with 200 BEF profits. I encourage all of you to find the cheapest products and sell at botprice in eBe. Maximize state income ! I sold 10 Q6 tanks this hour which will top at around 200 a day.
$.$
Re: start to panic
Jonathan Clay wrote:I see you just have to relocate to the country where you wanna buy, my bet
Yes, which only is worth it for buying larger amounts considering movement costs, this way smaller markets who are generally more expensive get protected.
Small markets: less offers => higher prices => small demenad => newbies buy cause not worth moving costs.
Beneficial for high rollers who buy larger amounts.
So downside is the newbies get hit more.
However they can benefit just like everyone else off the currency for working beeing BEF everywhere and move themselfs to the international job market.
Belgium job market however won't be that competitive anymore cause we're a small market also in jobs.
And now we're forced more to competete eInternational.
So it seems like the new update has pro's and con's.
Intresting times ahead

Moving to eUS in Aquitaine for example and back to eBelgium costs a whooping 40 BEF. Buying enough goods would mean 300-400 raw materials for instance (88 BEF). This is accessible to all, even new players.

Wait and see how big bonus country salaries evolve, at the moment we're still competitive.

You should've seen how quick those cheaps tanks were sold on the market with the low prices O_o almost couldn't follow. Jeez. It's almost like women on a shopping (read: killing) spree.

672 BEF for you, 715,2 BEF for the state in taxes
39.60 BEF botprice without taxes + 5.96 BEF taxes if it were 34,00 BEF you bought at.

Re: start to panic
hmm looking at this it seems the new update favors small economies on selling.
Whit which i dare to conclude smaller countries will get more intresting to migrate to, so i suspect a good amount off cs request from now on.
cause all the smaller countries will gonne protect themself and raise import taxes, so citizens off smaller countries will benefit a lot from it. resulting in these cs requests.

Good article explaining the changes.

It's way easier to purchase goods now outside of Belgium without the hassle of converting currencies which is nice

Yeah. That was the last economic challenge left.
First, ruin the complex MM by making everything too simple and handing out free companies. Second, remove the MM because you've ruined it.

Re: start to panic
so easy to make tons of profit
but i'm afraid it will result in one worldwide market and one value for gold, probably a very high value
