Facebook or Twitter?

I noticed that someone is doing a rather good job maintaining an eBelgian Facebook account, but I'm wondering why this was picked over twitter? I don't use either so I don't know a whole lot, but twitter seems much more simple and the overall layout is much easier to understand, unlike facebook where there is just a load of pictures swarming the page.

Also, I think that overall, people like twitter more than facebook. So my question is why do we have facebook instead of twitter, or both?

I don't know, never used Twitter. In fact I feel Twitter is really not as popular in the EU as in the US, surely not as much as Facebook.

never used twitter myself, looks a bit like an sms style thing, prefere google+ then, but that is not popular either

Oh, I didn't realise it might be less popular in the EU. More people here have a twitter account than facebook.

It wouldn't hurt to have both though. Has anyone noticed the fb account helping to bring new members into the game?

I've never had a twitter account, so I don't know quite how to use it, but yes, I think it would be good to have that if you would be so kind.

Perhaps whomever runs the fb account could help me run this one, in terms of keeping both of them similar and having the same updates/info, etc.

It's like household electronics. That's one category, but you don't choose between a refrigerator and tv either. Most people have both.

Both social media, Facebook is mainly for 'information' and Twitter is for 'communication'.

Maybe there a possibility (I assume there is) to connect FB and Twitter in some way. So posts on FB appear in Twitter and/or vice-versa. Then we would use it both, without any extra troubles.

I did and I choose the refrigerator
and the oven
and the telephone to call the pizza-service and the chinese
and the freezer to store some other meals
and a deep fryer for the healthy stuff
and a microwave
and an extra fridge for drinks

it was either that or the tv
=> don't have a tv !

Yes, i maintain the Facebook page to some extend(sharing links and updates).
I also keep an eye on google+ but as that place(erepublik on google+) is practically following the same line as Facebook i never looked any further into this.

I personally never cared for Twitter and never took any effort to got involved in that direction.

If extra communication is needed between the 2 medium, then we can use this forum, IRC, in-game pm or google doc as means to do so.

Yes, I would agree with you here, however I don't think people go to the FB page to get updated on what's happening.. They come here or look in-game. Perhaps I am wrong, but I thought the FB pay was more so used to invoke interest in the game and perhaps encourage new players, which is what I think we can do with the twitter page.
