Dungeon and dragon - A lost child.
Dungeon and dragon - A lost child.
Thanks to Mckitkat original post, I'll do another version of role playing game.
For those who are familiar with DnD, I'll be using the 5th edition rules for it (with a few twist from myself).
We'll play this campain if we are a minimum of 3 players + the DM and we'll go up to 6 players + the DM max.
Before you jump in, you'll have to know a few things.
DM (Dungeon Master) is god. DM's decision goes over everything. Even dice.
As much as I want you to succeed, I also need to be fair. If you attack a town barracks for fun, you'll probly end up dying. If the legendary drow elf Drizzt critical hit you, you'll die as well.
You're free to do anything but don't be a fool please..
All you know is that you met this mysterious scholar, he said his name was Tethtoril.
This Tethtoril is apparently gathering adventurer to perfom a task for him.
he requested your presence in "the sorcerer's mug", an inn inside candlekeep. You guess you'll have more détails about this quest over there...
How to join this game ?
You just need to create a character.
What if you don't like it after the first session ?
That's fine, you can leave any time you want. And everyone can join during the adventure itself, as long as the party isnt full yet.
How does the creation of a character work ?
Chose a race. I'll post some example of race over here. if you want a specific race that I didnt mention, it's not a problem. We can figure it out in private and find a way to make it happens.
Chose a class. Same problem as race, I can't post every single race aviable here, it will be too long and a bit too complex. If you want a specific class other then the one I mentioned, talk to me in private.
Last but not least, Chose a background story.
I'd like you to write a short (or not) description of your background story. Were you a spy ? A cook ? An assassin, a noble,...
Then add proficiencies to skill, weapons, tools according to your background.
Also : add your item according to it.
If I find your item too powerful I might change it.
Once all of this is done there is one final thing to do.
Roll for your stats. we'll do a /roll 1D20 for every single stats you have.
Strengh, dexterity, constitution, intelligence, wisdom, charisma. In this particular order.
Roll lower then 8 will be rerolled.
If you run into any trouble while creating a character, you can find me on irc or PM me ingame. I'll help you out.

before looking to the classes, you need to know something. Hitdie is used to set how much HP you start with and how much HP you gain per lvl. You constitution will also play a role in your pull of hp.
Here are some example of random background bonuses.
Random fact about this game,
You'll have to define a leader in the group.
Everytime the group need to roll (as a group, not individual), the leader will do so.
Most of the time, people will talk directly to the "leader" and a conversation can go either way as it take into account your charisma, what you roll, your reputation etc,...
We'll be using this website to roll and roleplay on :
https://app.roll20.net/home
Sorry about my poor english and thanks for reading and I hope some people will actually join this game. So we can define a date to play it out

Re: Dungeon and dragon - A lost child.
as I wont be aviable too much during the week, you might just ask mckitkat for help on your char. :p
Since we pretty much learned 5e together, he should be able to help you !
RIGHT Mckitkat ???
And it shoudnt take that much time, chose a race, chose a class. work on your background story (that's the longest part) and add bonuses according to it.
We autorize 3 skill profeciencies coming from your background (could be a language as well).
You chose the item you start with as well.
Once all of this is done, you roll for your stats (I'd like you to do this with me).

I expect you all to be doing this through voice so I'll abstain from putting my name in the hat. I'd be interested in spectating though!

Not sure yet, I'm sure some of our players would't do voice. I personally don't mind, but I bow to the decision of the majority.
