How to buy Companies
This is an informative post about what are the best companies to buy, regarding to your purpose in the game.

A Budget option :
The 3 (free) Q1 grain factory's do supply enough raw to keep the Q1 food working.
it's a good option if your a new player, and just want to have some food to work, train and fight a little, but are not interested in using all 500 health.
you will use 40 health to work these 4 compagny's that will take a chunk out of your production, but you will keep a little extra.
so you can work, train while maintaining your health, and even have a small surpluss you can either sell or use to kill 2 or 3 opponents a day.
B Soldiers option :
If you however are that kind of player who prefer to use all your health fighting... you may want to change tactic.
you will need 1 Q3 food factory and have a production level 9 or higher to make yourself 500 food a day.
And to provide the grain for that you'll need just a little more grain than 1 Deer hunter will provide.
to get that little extra grain you can either
*Use one of your grain farms till you have money for a 2d deer hunter
*Build a 2d deer hunter and use that
*hire a crewmember to work you deer hunter
*buy some raw grain fro the market.
(if you really want to max out your dayly attack, you'll pick the last 2 options as 1 factory less to work, means 1 more shot per day.
however those last 2 options also cost you some money every day, while the other will instead gain you some income, it's upto you to decide what has more weight for you.
So to really be self sufficient you
*build a deer hunter
*upgrade your food factory to a Q3
*eventually build a 2d deer hunter.
If all you want is provide for youself.. this will food-wise suffice.
after you have aquired that, you want to focus on weapons if your a soldier you want those too!
you will want to have about 45 weapon uses per day.
Ofcource having 1 Q5 weapon factory and a production rank 11 or higher would be the best way to get that, but I do see thats not very realistic.
More realistly : you start with buying 3 Q2 weapon factories, and slowly upgrade one to Q5
While this
To provide for the raws for these you need 2 Rubber factory's and a little extra.
again, you have the pick between
*Build a 3d rubber factory and use that
*hire a crewmember to work your rubber factory
*buy some weapon raws from the market.
-> it is unlikely you will have enough income to buy both the food AND the weapon raws you need (unless you find a external income source, like selling some of your gold or get money donated from others) so I suggest you either build a second deer hunter or a third rubber factory.
both is not necceceiry, as the surpluss from either one of them will provide you with enough income to buy the other type.
C Economist (and no staff):
If your main goal is just to make a lot of profit and run a compagny, this strategy changes a little.
working a Q1 factory yourself, is about as effective as the profit you will make on 5!! employees in a Q5 factory.
while the first involves little risk, the second does have big risk.
Having 2 deer hunters and 2 rubber factory's + 5 Q1 food factory + 5 Q1 weapon factory is a GREAT way to make money without having staff.
So you'll start buying a deer hunter, and buying a second Q1 food factory, and after that a third Q1 food factory.
next you either buy a second deer hunter and 2 more food factory's,
or you start with a rubber factory, and 2 weapon factory's
either way, your end result is the same.
and if you want you can add later more.. untill you have maxed out to 48 compagny's, taking maximal use of your dayly health.
D Compagny holder:
If your goal is to hire a crew and build a compagny that way (a method that involves more risk than C, but can be more profitable as well)
your final goal should be simple : 1 deer hunter 1 rubber factory 1 Q5 food factory 1 Q5 weapon factory, as those are most cost effective when hiring crew.
So you you want to get this, you start by buying a deer hunter and a rubber factory, (you can hire staff as soon as you have either of those)
after you have one of them, you buy the other one, and hire some crew there as well.
you have those 2, you start upgrading your food factory, you could if you want already hire crew in it, but I suggest you wait untill you have made it Q3.
From Q3 on, you have 3 options, you either start to build a weapon factory, and start hiring crew in it as soon as it gets Q3, or keep on leveling your food factory till Q5.
I hope this answered your question.

I would like to point out that this topic is outdated . Nowadays, the main way to make money is to upgrade the training center ^^
