1) When the game was just out, got to level 10 (at that time it took AGES) and it started to be more and more complicated.
2)Second time, eBe was completely PTOd by other nations, so I went in my endavours to eLatvia (well, didnt like it there, so stopped playing)
3) Made too many mistakes with the admins, multies, etc. so decided to stop.
Now Im back at my 4th attempt - Im definitely not the new generation.

Unfortunately, we have it here - the 'self-called-old players' completely took over the decision making.

On the one hand its good, cuz they are experienced and mostly know what they are doing + have good contacts outside eBe. On the other hand, this makes the game for other players more uninteresting. That is why so many leave eBe and so many PTOs come to us.

Dont misunderstand me, Im not a person that will propagate now that oligarchy must be brought down. Im just suggesting that this is the main reason for our failures.

I agree eLv is awesome, though there r so many players that it is hard to become something or to get into Congress...

Well, I've two remarks.

1: Which failure?
2: I think that you're wrong on something. That's not "old" people that are ruling the game. The people who rule the country are the active ones. Indeed you can't become CP or head of minister in one month, but it make sense as you have to better know the game first. A head ministry has charges but also some powers and we must be confident about the person first.

But the truth is that the CP has troubles just to find people to fulfill their ministry. We lack of active players and the only ones that are left are old ones. None of the two candidates has presented their government yet, but they won't be much different, I expect (at least for head of ministry, that is supposed to require an IRC activity).

1. The TW we have right now is one of them- Yes indeed we level up uber fast, achievements, xp, etc -> but how much gold and income will eBe use cuz of this??? more than needed, and only because of a bad planing.

2. What I mean is that the new players should be more involved in the game itself rather than the forum.

That is why I wanted to create a Secret Service (that gives more vacancies + fun for new players, since they could become our secret agents)

The ministries themselves should be more active. Reports should be posted weekly and more vacancies should be opened

The army should be built (the 2 units we have now is not enough)

We have a democracy here, why would the congress listen to president, if he or she wants to prevent them of doing what is their right? -> make a proposal/ or influence their decision making.

BTW could someone make a list of all our governmental structures and name of ppl working there (taking positions)
e.g
President.
All Ministries
Organization aiding ministries
Bank
Other Governmental organizations

1: Our only loss is the production boost. There are no other losses. The TW is giving a strong consumption boost (just look at BEF value, it rose a lot) and thus I'm not sure that on a pure economic scale it's that bad. With the new RH rule, our citizens will even earn gold!
2: Secret Service only send citizens away from eBelgium, it's better to avoid it.

Ministries should be more active, I agree on this . But that's a major problem, specially during holidays.

Army don't need more than the current 3 units it has. We don't have enough active citizens to even fulfill these 3. And actually we don't have real wars which lead to a strong boredom and lack of orders. That's the problem with small neutral countries, we have no way to make a decent army of much use.

Congress is totally free to make any proposal and to debate/vote on it. President can't do much without congress approval. Tell me one major act that the CP did without congress approval.

we have a major lack of active players and i agree with what jofroi said that the older ones are the only ones that stay for example just look at the goverment's from the past they are mainly the same people because activity is so low

First off, we get PTO'ed because we are a small country. This is the case with all small country that they are a easier target to PTO. This is just how it is in Erepublik, smaller countries are just target if it is with PTO or military we are always just a thing to be used. Without the experienced players running the country there wouldn't even be a Belgium. Without these experienced players there is nobody willing to take over and run the country. How is that a fail? Newer players if they are active are allowed in government pretty easy. We do our best to give young players a chance.

Even with perfect planning (is there such a thing? unexpected things can always happen!) we would have a drop in production due to the loss of regions. And like said there is a higher demand for food and weapons due to the TW so it isn't that bad for company owners.

More vacancies? More fun fun for new players? I had a hell of getting people to fill the positions that I needed to fill. I had lot of people not wanting a position due to vacantions, busy with their eduction etc.But with people like Mitteke, Pieter, Critically etc not having time it gave me the oppertunity to give people like xironn, Hollenboer and Requiem Domine a position in government. We do not need more vacancies, we hardly have enough active people to fill the current positions.

Do you have any clue how many people we have? And do you know we can't even fill the 3 platoons we have now. Lack of size and lack of supplies are the biggest problems for the BAF. With us being a small country we don't have a big budget like for instance US Millitia's. For eBelgium citizens it is more lucrative to become part of a US (or some other country) millitia and get more supplies. BAF just can't compete with that.

Congress still holds all the power, everything that is done ingame has to go true a (ingame) vote. Also all the important decisions are voted on by congress. Congress should also give the president the space to do this job and not constantly wanting to be involved and vote on everything.

small comment: yeah maybe are we an oligarchy, but that is a bit inherent to eRep, a rather fixed group decides stuff (and maybe it rotates a bit who in the fixed group does it)
However in belgium, membership of that group is free of charge, encouraged and not al difficult...
It is open also for new players, but they should be willing ofcourse...

I think everyone can join in the decision making but our active community is rather small so yes it looks like an oligarchy but we're all pretty nice people
