New message in my inbox, change in economy?

I only play this game for a month, but i focus on earning money.
So i started building salt peper mines, but tody i got this in my inbox:

Dear land owners,

First, i would like to congratulate you for the great job you've done on your lands so far, you've worked hard and helped the New World progress.

And, as any societies progress, the time has come for a change of focus, as it will no longer be about you working your land, but it is about you being a Manager, like in the old eRepublik days.

The first step is to remove toolboxes, as a good Manager uses skills, not luck, to maximize productivity. So hurry up, assemble all your existing toolboxes and use them as long as they are still valuable for your land. You have a few days left..

in old erepublik days you couldn't work as a manager in your companies.
only employees could

i hope they don't go back to that

maybe they return to the skills. like rank points or strenght you can produce more with higher skills, and managers of the companies will adapt your salary according to your skills

It's only of toolbox... And i heard we have ~1 week to use them, but be careful with the date.

edit :

The PM from Plato only tell you that the Toolbox will be removed. We will NOT remove work as manager and we will NOT add the work skill .

On Day 1535 at 00:00 eRepublik time, all the remaining organizations (except the national ones) will be deleted from the game. Make sure you dissolve them so that you won't lose your properties.

Removing toolboxes isn't screwing up.

It's just fixing a previous screw up.

(Because really, those toolboxes killed the last bit of non-artificial (= non-eRep bot) life of the raw materials market.)

Not once you got use to it. I like some things from this version and some from V1. Only if they could mix them all together instead of changing.

don't agree, I found it easier then to start and lean it, then when I have to explain the game now to a newer player and I want to go further then: click that button Wink

in that time, having a company was something that you needed to save first A LOT for!

Yeah... local currency to GOLD rates of 0.005 up to 0.048 in some countries (instead of every currency being worth 0.001 G), selling "shares" of companies you couldn't afford, the need to hire employees (I work in all my companies myself now) and also to bind the good ones to your companies with extra benefits (goods or gifts), health influencing productivity, all kinds of skills to develop, no free bazookas/toolboxes/companies/etc., state companies, a government that could actually do something and make a difference (loved being Minister of Finances back then!), an economy with many goods (houses, gift, moving tickets) and raw materials, organizations functioning as a RL "holding", newspapers where you could publish where you want (including propaganda or seeding confusion in enemy countries during war)...

... I'll just stop here. But I could make this post too long to read...

True. Only setback was that you had to be online 24/7 to do some good fighting, rest was really great.

In fact, it was so great, that it got too complex for the eRep team... and that's why they scrapped some good parts, added some wrong parts, and effectively messed up our game... Razz

NBB/BWC?

There seems to be an assumption that these qualify as "national" orgs and are exempt from deletion. Sure, they are run for the benefit of the country, but

"the national ones" may mean the country accounts.... has anyone double checked this? seems like its kinda risky to just assume NBB/BWC are safe. Especially since the BWC isn't by most definitions a "national organization"

National orgs of eBE is the list of orgs the cp (around 1y ago, maybe me?) sent to the admins to be protected... It's a total of 5-6 orgs (bwc, eBE mil, nbb, belgium.info, citizen.info, belgium incorporated,...)

For erepadmins it is.
When I was CP I checked with the admins the list with national orgs and the state orgs I knew of were all national orgs
