Hello ~ Bonjour
Hello eBelgium.
I'm a totally new player about eRepublik. I'm not really regular about coordination game. It's what kind of game ?
And sorry about my english, I was not regular and now I'm not really good. But if english is the first langage of eRepublik, it will be a chance to work it.
I started with a job (in the game), and tried to meet the military steps (chinese campaign apparently). I used a tank (automatically received ? I don't know).
It's just to say I try the game, but in part english and in part french it's really strange (options and explanations).
About community, I understand nothing. But it's my first day here, I will discover it better.
Game experiments are they interesting for here ? To Compare differences between these games and thereof.
I played some years on Travian (and be leader of one alliance for a time), played on Empire Universe 2 (leader for an alliance too, for a time). Now I'm just playing on a little game called Kingdom on Muxxu website.
I discover eRepublik when a guys talk about.
I'm just sad there is no clear introduction in French to understand the game, but I may be wrong.
Sorry if the message is boring or horrible to read.
Promised, I will work my English.
Au plaisir de vous lire,
Paradoxien

Also you can find us everytime on our irc channel (see above).
we will always help you in english and if your lucky someone is around who speaks french you'll get help in french .

Salut Paradoxien.
Il y a des tutoriaux en français dans le jeu et sur le forum si je me souviens bien. Si personne ne t'a aidé d'ici demain, je chercherai les liens pour toi (là j'ai pas trop le temps).

Oh, there are many answers, and in a short time. It's very active.
Yes, your Highness.
I also think it's different. I hope.
I'll read it.
Thank you.
Hello.
Yes I saw it. It's the most international game than I can see, others are always separate by language servers. It's new for me.
Apparently it's possible to move from one country to another, or to do business or diplomacy depth. True ?
Depending my curiosity and my need for information I will watch the forum.
For chat channels (that's IRC?), I'm not very motivated. As a general rule I am more forums and private message. And ESPECIALLY IN ENGLISH, for the time I need to create my answer.
Thank you very much.
Heeeelp, I'm looooost.

Re: Hello ~ Bonjour
There are some maintenance periods, usually with a countdown. You will come very familiar with the "We'll be back any second now" term ^^
Though, normally there aren't that much maintenance periods in such a short timeframe.
On another note: be sure to request (daily) your citizen pack. A citizen pack is completely free and consists of 2 Q6 weapon and 10 Q6 food.
You can find more info here: http://www.erepbelgium.com/f41-citizen-packs
If you need someone to translate or explain in French, I am not the right guy! My French sucks donkey balls I understand all of it, speak a little but my French writing is horrific.

Salut Paradoxien et bienvenue en eBelgique!
This is definitely a total different game than Travian. At least here you don't need to connect every hour to see if you're attacked or not
I hope you will enjoy it or just get addicted to it like most of us

Re: Hello ~ Bonjour
Hello all. I'm suprised !
In the "My Places" is put "my companies". But I thought it was related to job and employer. This is not that, right ?
So if I understand well, basically I have a food plant and three plants of grain. My own companies.
So far I thought I was working as an employee, but in fact I can recruit staff if I understand well?
So I can buy building, and sell produces. But what am I, a substate, a businessman, or a basic citizen (like real world) ?
To summarize a bit the game, everyone can be an employee of another and be a businessman.
That seems a little strange, I feel I see only part of the game without seeing the whole. I fear making a mistake by going too fast.
If this continues I would be a headless chicken ...
Note: I think and I said myself that this game is not a strategy game like I used to hear. For this word I rather think games like Rome Total War, etc..
Rather it is a coordination game. I have not really an example, I just think the game "Horde" on website Muxxu (game of survival against zombies). Because other games, player is a state or a substate (Travian, Empire Univers 2, etc), or they play a person and it's more individual or maybe private group (not global group).
Some similarities with Travian finally, other suggestive as an MMORPG like Rappelz or Dofus (shame).
It would be a subtle mix of both ?
Am I understood ?

you can both work for a person and have employees
However, make sure that if you have employees, that what they produce, you can sell for more money than it costs (you need to pay an employee some wage and you need for food and weapons, a bit of raw material first)
you are private citizen, who can work and be simultaneous an employer.
you can train yourself and fight, as one of many people, in a battle, where your personal influence will not be that much, but where the combined influences of a lot of people will make the difference
Re: Hello ~ Bonjour
So private citizen. Ok I think I'll wait a while before I get into business, this requires investments I haven't.
Especially since this is the direct concurrency, by wages and prices.
I have time I think. ^^

atm its only worth getting employees from q4-q5 companies and above. so start focusing on working daily, and working in your own companies.
Goldwise: don't spend it, save it its needed to buy companies and stuff.
In your first days most important is getting self suificient on food so build food supply companies best is the one off 8500bef

What is it ATM ?
So if I understand correctly, use employers for items (food / weapons / etc) only from Q4 and Q5 (and more)
For gold, I did not feel there was a huge income so yes I'd rather wait.

Thanks tommot and Cotarius.
I try to participate in the battle of Wallonia (and I shoot opponents, I can assure you). I would just have some information on the functioning of the battle and information found there.
1. When the order of battle is given and players attacking, who defends ? Do citizens living there defend automatically? How does it work ?
[In fact, how does the battle ?]
2. What are the points of the country, and how it works ? How does the %?
3. What represents the crowns ? Does this represent the stages of the battle before the final victory ?

Paradoxien wrote:1. When the order of battle is given and players attacking, who defends ? Do citizens living there defend automatically? How does it work ?

Your oponents are randomly selected in the region you're fighting in and are people of about equivalent strength / damage output. It's only the attacking that's being taken into calculation. Strategically, Belgium is defending on this battle as the dutch are invading our region.
2. What are the points of the country, and how it works ? How does the %?
points of a country is the total damage output (the number you get when you kill an oponent) added together in a big total it moves the bar, if it's over 50% for one side (so more damage dealt by one side) that side will get points every minute.
The stages of the battle indeed, need 8 "mini" wins to win the big battle. so the crowns need to be completed for a country to conquer the region3. What represents the crowns ? Does this represent the stages of the battle before the final victory ?
Lastly, you don't need to move unless you want to fight for Belgium in the next battle.
Re: Hello ~ Bonjour
Ok, I understand better now.
In another topic I read that you'd perhaps a RW (Resistance War). I do not know at all how it goes recess.
I think that because you put "unless you want to fight for Belgium", but perhaps I can be useful in Wallonia?
But I imagine that a plan will be decided if Wallonia should fall. I would stay attentive to the forum to know what is expected of me.

Re: Hello ~ Bonjour
Indeed, in Wallonia you'll be able to help start this Resistance war to conquer the region back in a one on one fight without allies drain damage.
On the other hand moving isn't that expensive; several of us do it multiple times a day to play import / export and make marginal profits buying and selling goods.

Re: Hello ~ Bonjour
But since you are a rather young player, you could use your money (or cc like we say sometimes) better then to move.
Since the recent changes, I think there are not any reason anymore that you need to move, unless you start an RW. You can (and should) just stay where you are and think about how to improve your economical situation

Re: Hello ~ Bonjour
So it's impossible to make a war of resistance without moving.
Anyway I noticed that I did just influence the battle about + / -200 points on the bar for each defeated enemy. Ludicrous.
I will devote myself to develop my economy and develop my company, and wait eBelgium come to me.
I don't know how to be useful this time. Don't fight for Dutch, already.
For products that I would sell (and buy), apparently it is still the Belgian market. So I can try to sell without complex.
I don't know if there are specific rules between two warring states in trade.

Re: Hello ~ Bonjour
With regards to your comment in the citizen packs request topic for today (day 1571):
Since eNL conquered Wallonia, it is now territory of eNL. This does not influence you receiving your citizen packs.
Basic rule is that you need to have an eBelgian citizenship, the location where you are at, doesn't matter. And don't worry, if somebody who isn't an eBelgian citizen requests a CP (citizen pack), he/she will not get one. I keep my eyes open ^^

Thanks.

Re: Hello ~ Bonjour
I'm thinking that in my state, I am not very useful for fight. Should I devote myself fully to my development?
I say that because I think about the Citizen Pack, which I suppose is intended to fight.
My question is: Is what I can use this Pack to accelerate my progress in my company, by selling weapons and food?
If this is not expected for Pack and that's a problem, I will not do and use this pack to fight, although I have only + / - 300 influence on the fight bar per death.
With only the food production Q1 (1 factory and a sufficient daily raw production for it) and weapons Q1 (1 factory but only a raw factory), it will take months before a new building.
I read the topic on subsidies, but I must have basic capital if I correctly understood. So same conclusion.
Note: the Q4 weapon raw factory is Salpetermine isn't it ?
What's your advices ?

Re: Hello ~ Bonjour
To answer your question about citizen packs, that is a program offered to every citizen who asks for it, in times of peace as well as times of war, and what you do with it after you get it is entirely your own business. If, in fact, it seems to make more sense to you to sell it so you can use the cash to develop your lands and storage, you are permitted to do that. If you want to use it to fight, that is also your privilege. The damages you do now won't make much difference to the war, but they will help you to grow and rank up, so that could also be a wise use of the resources for you. They packs are there to help you, but it is up to you to choose how they help you.
