CP candidates
As candidates will have to be chosen within 2 days I'm just wondering:
Who is actually cp candidate?

3 days before the election and I haven't really seen an article of any candidate except Wim. Let's hope he won't win CP elections, he was close last election.

Might I suggest, if you do not want him to win, that you make some effort to sell yourself as the best candidate?

Re: CP candidates
he is for the moment not a candidate, but if he was, why impeach him? it is not cause his vision is something different then yours, that you just have to impeach him.jamster737 wrote:that is not good but of it does happen we will have to try to impeachFhaemita Malodorous wrote:

As long he, as CP follows the laws, I will resist to an impeachment of him. He seems to be sure more motivated then goopy was during his CP-term...
Re: CP candidates
Impeach to impeach is indeed not the good attitude
And wim did not candidate himself, but i would be surprised there would be no LCC candidate this month.
Just mentioning, if you want to impeach wim, you need 20 yes votes.
there are 8 LCC members in congress (at least 5 of them will vote NO), we have one rogue CM, and I'm quite sure 2 others wont vote yes either.

Re: CP candidates
I guess a lot of you won't like this but I am going to run. I hadn't realized it was so close already. And because of the great weather (that is now finished) I didn't even come around in introducing HOPE decent.
Still I will make an article about HOPE and about my candidacy tomorrow (if all goes good).

Senior players really this concerned about Wim's influence? Maybe what is lacking is senior players confidence in their own abilities. Really believe Wim's influence is over rated. Not voting for A Vegan simply cause he is friends with Wim, is a shortcoming not of A Vegan but rather the voter who stand so much in awe of Wim that he allows Wim to influence his vote to not vote for A Vegan. But what does i know, i am only a 2-clicker
BTW congrats Goopypants!

If someone wants to vote for A Vegan, but doesn't because he is afraid of Wim's influence, than this [perceived] influence becomes in fact a reality, because he changed his behavior by voting for Goopypants. So Wim had influence just because of his reputation.

Re: CP candidates
You can turn that in every way you want. Fact is that A Vegan received more votes than the sum of members of the 2 parties that supported him. Strange for someone that is not know by the citizens and only posted his candidacy without real content just a couple of days before the elections.
Still waiting for your reply karakoran. Yesterday another greek was accepted by LCC, making the total number of accepted citizens without proper congress discussion to 6 already since april 27.

Re: CP candidates
Well, a Vegan did get some votes from folks who were confused about my promise to invade North Korea in the "Candidate Platform" on eRepublik, and saw it as imperialist warmongering.
As was told to me, "Never overestimate the 2-clickers".
Good thing I didn't tell them about my eBelgian Moonbase plan.

What is the problem with that?

To the moon!
After all, Tintin (a Belgian) was the first to set foot on the moon!
So I think we have a case for claiming it our own!
By the way, Congratulations GoopyPants!

Secret plans to go to the moon rarely stay secret for long.
As for the votes for A Vegan, I think some of you are forgetting that he is known to many older players in eBe, and whether or not they were part of the one of the parties supporting him, they might have voted for him on that basis.

Re: CP candidates
Let's not forget aVegan had the support of 3 parties (AV is former LCC, they're organized enough to not need the in game support showing).
HOPE: 25 members
LCC: 37 members
ATO: 17 members
The numbers were slightly different at the time of the elections but he had the support of the parties who represent 46% of congress and he sure didn't get more votes then the sum of parties supporting him.
Personally I'm in HOPE (I'm in this party because AV wants to have a constructive opposition and I really think eBelgium needs it right now) but I voted GoopyPants because I felt he was better prepared for this month and above that he had been treated unfairly during the March elections where some people decided it would be funny to support a two clicker candidate (P.S.: this is the guy who has so much hate feelings against the establishment due to his impeachment that he will try and damage international relations with rogue NE proposals, that's how funny it is).
However let this be a warning for all future CP candidates, the two-clicker majority will base themselves on quick in game information (part may read your articles but most won't). They look at people they know who support candidates in shouts, they look at the goals you set and they look at the number of votes on the articles, they look at private messages. The campaigning has severely deteriorated due to a lack of competition. It's not that we don't know how to win votes in elections.
Lastly, the greatest danger in LCC is that people are afraid of Wim. Rather then fighting fire with water, many are trying to fight fire with fire. Be constructive, explain why things are the way they are. All that people see is 30 people agreeing with Wim when he says pig swine government. Yes, he does cheat and lets all kinds of people in but that represents maybe 10 votes at the moment. Wim is a real life Belgian, cope with it because if you don't and don't manage a real political defense beyond callng him a bad guy all the time, he will win eventually.
