Re: King's Speech
Well, it made me remember when Bart de Wever had to see the king for the first time, was funny :p.
But yeah, I guess he pretty much targeted the NVA and the rise of populism in the north of the country (southern citizens aretoo corrupt too lefty for that)^^

This and the Belgian media just love populism because if like 30% of the people of 60% of the country vote for it, it's the heavenly mandated majority.

Sure, but that's still bad to use the same method.

Re: King's Speech
What troubles me most is massmedia letting themselves be abused to spread a propaganda type message. Don't journalists learn about spotting abuse of mass media and the involved risks in schools ?
In fact, I do believe representative democracy in the world is being undermined by said mass media not taking their role seriously or in certain cases abusing their position as 4th power by overemphasizing non-issues.

I like your analysis Nohijs.
The economical constraints on media change their nature and they aren't yet able to play their rol of 4th power

Re: King's Speech
Regardless of whether you like De Wever or not, the role of the king is to be politically neutral. Something he violated in that speech.
The guy is paid millions and the one thing he has to do, keep unity in the country and be neutral, he manages to f*** up. I've been against a king for a lot longer than today but this only empoweres why we don't need him.
Oh and Nohjis, regardless what leftists like you try to forget, BDW WAS elected by 30% of the Flemish population. A election victory that was unprecedented in recent political history. The fact that our own king continuously shows to be a puppet for waloon socialists, shows once more why parties such as NVA continue to grow and are steering towards yet another monster score in 2014.
I for one am proud to be a Flemish Nationalist and limiting or abolishing the powers of an ancient times relic such as that senile skeleton and his retarded and socially-backwards son (and then I'm not even exaggerating with that statement) would be the first step towards fixing some of the many things that are broken in this country.
Or do you think it's normal how he speaks about crisis and how people should try to live with less, while at the same time giving himself a 12% raise?

Something he did not violate in that speech which is why I believe it's a non issue. He did not target any individual party, assumptions were made by observers and wildly taken over in the media overly exagerating something that could have gone without mention. If Bart De Wever responded in the media it was only because he believes he can profit from this pretended mass-indignation, just like media made a profit from a visit of Michele Martin to Knokke which was not wrong or illegal.
What you should be aware of is that the analogy with the 30's is not wrong at all in the way mass media are being abused.

What blinded fools like you tend to forget is that being against a one issue party doesn't make you right or left.
What you also tend to forget is that your dear holy leader is not capable of compromise, something you need to do when you represent less then 20% of the country and you wish to realize a part of your program.
What you also tend to forget is that PS (with close to 38%) represents a much higher percentage of the Frenchspeaking community then the NVA of the flemish speaking community making it more "incontournable" then NVA.
What you also tend to forget is that these scores were normal for the CVP until 1995 which I still consider recent.
What you also tend to forget is the number of protest votes without any love for the only point of the NVA program that won't be changed as demographics change.
But hey, keep being blinded by mindless propaganda, I would expect better of someone with your intellectual capacity.

Budget for the royal family rises with 2.5% (an indexation) and with this raise just like last year, he will make expenses normally paid for outside of his budget.
And then... giving himself a raise ? Last I remembered any "raise" you talk about is voted by parliament and not by the will of the king. Your problem of being blinded by propaganda is most apparent in this last point.
Re: King's Speech
Nohjis wrote: Your problem of being blinded by propaganda is most apparent in this last point.
Completely agree
Your speech is one big indoctrination clump, sorry to say that. No I'm not pro-walloons, nor pro-CD&V, nor Open VLD, LDD, Socialisten, Belangers, ... But this is one big subjective nonsense to me. Little too tired to write a whole wall of text about it though. Let's just say that the NVA is doing everything to destabilize the country and the King puts himself into opposition because of that. Why would we need a King if all you allow him is to let him watch his country burn? This is the proof we still need him most than ever.
And yes media just keeps falling in the trap, spektakelpolitiek is clever, Hitler understood that too. And besides, I'm Flemish and even I know that if we lose Wallonia our future is doomed, it is clear as f**k if you read a bit of History and wonder what would happen in the future following the same logic. But still, Belgians are too lazy to think about this, and keep just accepting all NVA's speeches...

Re: King's Speech
The new permanent structure of the globalist capitalism (actually we call this situation nowadays a "crisis", because it is not a temporary situation, but the new structural reality of our society) has an economic downturn in the European economy as found in various nations, as in Italy, starts to feel heavy. Re-localization, bankruptcies and layoffs take place daily in our nation and in many other European countries. A whole continent is losing its industrial complex and sets in almost total silence, the devastating effects of decades of economic turbo-capitalism and globalization!

Re: King's Speech
ugh, too long post Nohjis. Not worth reading. Probably filled with SPA/PS propaganda anyways.
will talk again in 2014 when NVA consolidates it's power and we get some real changes in Flanders.
Be sure to get your spot next to Patrick Jansens then.

A free press is a part of democracy. And being a free press let's you lie and not print the truth.
Unfortunate part of democracy.

This conception of the press as a part of the democracy was a century ago... Now, it's only a part of capitalisme. The financial determinants are too huge.

The wonderfull drape of awesomness when I enter my home region of Flamandie (because let's face it Vlaanderen doesn't sound cool enough to be a real country anyways). The one that is more associated with cycling then the UCI flag,... This thing makes me want to take my bike out of the garage even when it's cold.
When you vote SP.A again because reading all three letters was too difficult and you started at the end, remember that you could've voted PvdA shadowukcs.
