Re: The Bank NBB-BNB
Hey
I can answer you that as I did those changes ^^ They all went towards the financing of our second MPP this month for our TW. We also had to pay the fees in advance as the donation of 60 gold confirms.
This was all voted on by congress : https://ebelgium.forumotion.net/congress-voting-area-f9/joining-colombia-venezuela-tw-passed-t865.htm So no worries. Also, you can't see a lot of our currencies that are currently on the market in order to be exchanged !
Greetings !

Re: The Bank NBB-BNB
the problem was that about 10 days ago we've signed our MPP with malaysia for the TW over there. However, phillipines, the attacking partner of malaysia, got invaded and with the troubles over there, it isn't likely a new TW will appear soon. Thus it was decided to quickly sign a MPP with venezuela and participate in that TW.
results:
=> 400gold away in a short time.
that's your reason why. Further the economy is quite ok: the bank has a lot of BEF and the BEF is currently rather stable. For an economic overview, check our MoF's report on: http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/late-financial-report-1392215/1/20
I hope this answers your question!

Re: The Bank NBB-BNB
just mentioning that the peg has been bought out (aka NBB-BNB has been sold out) and that there's 'only' +- 1200 BEF available on the market at the price of 0.019, and halve of it is from one invester only so ...

Re: The Bank NBB-BNB
Can someone explain me what the function of the National Bank is, what it's used for and what's the profit for the eBelgians and how we can make our bank powerful?
and what is "MPP" and "TW". I'm not familiar with the abbrevations.
Just playing the game for a week.
Greetings

Re: The Bank NBB-BNB
MPP - Mutual Protection Pact (Alliance)
TW - Training War
It's simplier manage money from National Bank as organization than from country accounts (somebody else can explain you more about that, but I think it's main reason).

Re: The Bank NBB-BNB
Longer explanation:
The national bank is an org, owned by the state that is the central hub for all the country's funds. It is used because it allows for much more flexible use of the country's money. If we kept the money in the national treasury, we would have to propose a congress vote every time we wanted to transfer funds. This way, we transfer the taxes to the national bank every month or so and use the bank to distribute the money.

Re: The Bank NBB-BNB
Also, if a country loses a region, the attacking country gets a part of the treasury
So by transferring the money you make that the opponents get 2-3 gold, wich is better then 100-200 gold if you letted all the gold inside

Re: The Bank NBB-BNB
Plus PTO (political take over) danger - if our Congress of President's chair would be taken over by some foreign group, they could send the funds from the in-game treasury (the place where our taxes automatically go to) to their personal organizations, litterally robbing our country. This has happened before (but luckily it was a while back, and hopefully we won't experience anything like this any time soon).

Or your Banc gets hacked every month, like in Ireland
I proposed ideas to them to make it more difficult to hack a Banc, but they didnt listen (very good)
Too much people having acces to the Banc is asking for a hack

+1, that's why many countries have fixed in (forum) laws who have access: enough to react quickly in emergencies like attacks, and few enough to keep it safe. It's mostly only 3 people (eNL for example: CP when not under PTO, Prime Minister and Minister of Finances). New people on any of those positions means new password.
(I use the same in eBelgium, by the way, where only also our trusted secretary Velitia has the pass.)

Re: The Bank NBB-BNB
With an small tax income, most cash on the national bank, no high regions, and both EDEN ánd Phoenix very close by (no need to create 'puppet state' here), I don't see why we would be PTO'd soon.Rowan Quigley wrote:I hope no one PTOs Belgium.
Plus, we have a full functioning Congress, something which makes PTO'ing harder.
Not saying it's impossible... just not attractive enough
