well, normally I don't have any big trouble, but now you consider "dead" as to be in another place (in the same world), I must admit that it's a struggle

It was based on the 'The King is dead, long live the King' , intended to say, that although he's gone, he's not really gone.

It was the word dead that created confusion.

If you said "Cotarius is gone, long live Cotarius!"
That might have been more understandable.

When you say dead, i am not thinking of not in the country anymore.
When you say dead, people tend to think that you mean that they/he/she is no longer functioning.

There is nothing confusing about that, Right?

tommot: the saying is playing on the contradiction of dead and live, so you can't replace it without losing the essence of the saying's existence

Although, maybe not the best context to use this phrase, Cotarius being eDead is the first thing that comes to mind :O
