Salaries in eBelgium and in eFrance.
Hello my compatriots,
I'm a new player but i've already seen that the salaries in France are higher than ours.
Some citizens are attracted by the money so they're going to work over there... Then the money is not for our government to develop our little but beautiful country but to the French government and that's very annoying.
Do you think we can do something for a problem like that?
Thank you very much for your time,
Tengo2

Re: Salaries in eBelgium and in eFrance.
The value of gold is the same for all countries. The BEF is not particularly weak or strong, it's worth about the value of the FRF, between 250-285 local currency. So the salaries should be comparable. Also, prices on the French marketplace are comparable, to the purchasing power per BEF seems only a few percent higher than per FRF.
Yet if we see that the highest level 5 job offer is 19.50 BEF in Belgium and 35 FRF in France, there is indeed a problem for Belgium.
Let's try to think of explanations and a remedy :-)

Re: Salaries in eBelgium and in eFrance.
Well, in eBelgium the market is (despite what all the company owner states while they complain all the time) a pretty good market for companies and it is definitely not the best country to have good wages.
However, you also have to consider the quality of life.
For example, in eBelgium, a high skill (11) will earn 38.5 BEF = 0.138 gold, while in France he'll earn 55.35 FRF = 0.2214 gold.
But the cost of life in eBelgium is also lower.
Let's compare Q1 food of both countries.
In eBelgium, a Q1 food cost 0.0014 gold, while in France, it cost 0.0015 gold
(and for weapon, the value is almost the same in both countries).
So, a French citizen can buy more things with the same salary and buy more gold.
It's better to live in France.
There are several reasons among that, but the main is that France owns more natural ressources than eBelgium, so they can produce more.
Another reason is that they've a more competitive environment, so the company owners make less profits.
A last remark can be done. In eBelgium, the price of the raw is almost the same than in eFrance, while we have lower wages. It means that the company owner makes a lot more profits either while selling raw and either while selling food.
You could object that France have more raw booster, but if you look, it's only true for the raw, not for the food.
So, our company manager are making too much profits, that's all. Or our workers aren't working with enough wellness, or lack of boosters.
Some other considerations could also be done about the Monetary Market.

Re: Salaries in eBelgium and in eFrance.
Well, I can tell u, I've some employees.
Most of them are underpaid, but I've one that is skill 11 and that I pay 35 BEF (above market offers). (but with VAT, not much difference.
He produces 102 iron/day => production cost is around 0.34 BEF/ raw.
Which is strange because that would mean that technically the frenchies would hire at a loss?
I think that I know where is the gap. It's in high quality companies that we almost don't have in eBelgium . The Q1 foods must be full of company manager, allowing them to lower the price a lot. I let you find why, don't have the time to explain now .

Thank you very much for your answers.
I didn't expect that this game was so complicated!

Re: Salaries in eBelgium and in eFrance.
Actually the game is rather simple . And it used to be far more complex in V1 (with different skills and so on).
It's just that if you begin with economy, even the most simple stuff can become very complex if u consider the whole model^^.

Your screenshot is outdated ^^. I think that for buying stuff and all, eRepublik trade isn't very reliable (for example atm the food price in gold for Q1 gives 0.00152 gold/ unit).

Yes, they do. It's because of the stone companies whose prices are very high. So they can suggest higher salaries and the other sectors try to follow but waste money doing this...

Since stone will disappear with the new raws, these extravagant salaries will go away too (if the new raws ever get implemented).
