That's sort of disappointing.

Re: Fall of Hungary
Well I doubt Spain has anything great to gain from Portugal... Plus Portugal would grab a whole bunch of Phx MPPs or whatever it is you crazy kids do -.-;. Anyway ya... Maybe we could find all the independent countries and set up a sort of "Neutral Alliance"... Easier said than done yes but what else are we doing?

Re: Fall of Hungary
I believe that's what the Entente started out doing. I don't think it turned out so well for them, well, neutrality-wise.

Re: Fall of Hungary
Well maybe that's because it wasn't entirely just a "Neutral Alliance" but instead a few left out Peace => Phx members and some countries like the Ukraine that aren't really neutral.

Re: Fall of Hungary
I believe we must find allies who are neutral if neutral country still exist.
We musn't end up being isolated.

Re: Fall of Hungary
Why do we need an ally at all? What benefit would we gain from it? Besides the fact that most "neutral" countries lean one way or the other a country like Uruguay or one similar wouldn't help much if Croatia wanted to walk through our backyard.

True. Maybe just to let the citizens that we are not alone. That we have a "bro". I don't know.

And why must we be alone? Being neutral doesn't we have to be alone.

Re: Fall of Hungary
A neutral alliance is simply an alliance that doesn't attack but helps each other out when being attacked. Which isn't neutral.
It's like NAVO and the Warschau Pact. "We're neutral, just don't attack us or we'll nuke you."
It will also be easier to attack us... Either we join a worthy alliance, or no alliance.

Well eBeglium seems to have little natural resources on eRep. This causes the whole economy to be a little bit rough around the edges. Plus there are some countries that couldn't care less if we're neutral or not and would conquer us for the heck of it.

Now that is not an entirely bad idea. Something to the equivilant of America, Canda, Ireland, and Japan's Brolliance. They aren't like EDEN or Phoenix, grouping together and spearheading into another country, but instead they're 110% friendly.

Re: Fall of Hungary
Staying out of everybodies way has worked well for the last 4 months, and we didn't even have really active diplomatic relationships with anyone. I think we should continue walking this path as long as we can, but we should be more active abroad, more on the cultural field maybe, to let people abroad know more about us.

Re: Fall of Hungary
... lolz?
I would also suggest that we start with making a decent MoFA and then see what the future holds for us on alliance part.

Re: Fall of Hungary
Please stop the alliance talk. This was decided several times on governemental and congressional level to stay out of alliances as long as possible, and unless we are seriously threated by anybody, we should stop speculating.

Re: Fall of Hungary
Well the job of presidents is to do the people's will. Plus this is general discussion and I see very little reason why we can't have fantasy filled chats about "What eBeglium could do". I enjoy the 'what ifs', it makes you think a little more...
Also, I'm sure you all saw the little message that "Rantings of a Nobody" right? I saw that as...interesting...
