[BNA]Resignation
ARTICLE: http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-bna-resignation-2021673/1/20
First I want to say that this article doesn’t contain ironical content, everything I say here is meant like it’s written. If I offend people, I don’t care. Have fun reading this
As from the start of BNA Fhaemita and I were very motivated to reform the army, we had idea’s about supply systems, rank systems, etc. etc. We always thought the same about how things should go.
Because we aren’t similar minded with Congress and government, we faced a lot of obstacles before we were able to get our Army fully operational. It took Congress very long before they were really participating in the debate of our Budget, which has cost us a lot time. But then finally, we had a budget, and we were able to optimize and pay our Supply Officers, tecuvo and Olv007 who sacrificed their companies to eBelgium and its army. Thanks to them really, they deserve a medal for that !
But then the worst has yet to come. TR came out of his 200-click period and he started bitching about the level of inactivity in our Army. We didn’t had an avatar, proper communication with our SO’s, missions, etc. etc. Well, TR and ALL the others who started bitching because I don’t want to make TR feel alone listen to this:
We didn’t had an avatar because I don’t think we should waste our time on that. It’s a secondary objective. A good Supply System, evaluating supply systems etc. etc. THAT’S the main objective!
I don’t know where you heard about the bad communications, but I believe (yea, I’ll start accusing you) that it was a way to convince people that I’m a bad commander, that I lack communication, that I lack skills. Well let me state something: I’ve been commander of an army several times before, and I think I’m not bad at it. All the SO’s now knew what was expected from them and what they’ll get in return. If it wasn’t clear enough I took some of my precious time to explain what I meant. So I think communication is not a problem!
About missions, Congress KNEW that there would only be 1 DOF each week, so they shouldn’t be bitching about it. If they wanted me to do more, they should have give me more budget and call my school to give me free of my classes.
Oh and about the Article, I don’t know about you, but I have school, homework, social life, etc. etc. And I don’t have time to play this game. Sometimes I’m not able to do my DO’s. It’s not because you’re here 24/7 that I’m here that often !!
After this all being said, the Commander, Critically and Deputy Commander, Fhaemita Malodorous, are resigning from all their duties in the Belgian National Army. The pressure and constantly bitching of TR, NLSP, Nohjis, Congress, etc. etc. made it impossible for us to do a proper job and I suggest them to take command of the BNA, in order to make them feel how it is!
I know our resignation will cause even more criticism seeing we committed for the long term to the BNA. Although we both fully intended to be part of the BNA for the long term but this was made impossible by the constant nagging, unsubstantiated accusations and even lies about BNA and against both Critically and me personally. These things quickly drained the fun out of running the BNA having to constantly having to defending us against the accusations and lies. I know people like TR won’t agree, he thinks that if you run BNA your whole life has to revolve around that task, but it is a game and we play this for fun. Some eBelgian citizens are very good in sucking the fun out of the game for people.
Personal Note Critically: I want to say thanks to Fhaemita who helped me a lot, with forming, evolving, and talking to Congress/TR when I was tired of it! Thanks to the SO’s for their efforts. The time I had in BNA were very nice!
Personal Note Fhaemita: First off I want to thank Olv for stepping down even though he was elected as Commander by Congress and gave Critically and me the chance of running the BNA. Thank you Critically it was a honor working with you, we are very like minded in our ideas about BNA and I enjoyed working for you. Also a huge thanks to the two SO’s for their dedication and willingness to give up their companies and profit for BNA, and thank you to everybody else who I forgot but who helped with BNA.

Re: [BNA]Resignation
I can't say this comes as a big surprise.
Regardless of who agrees or not, I believe you have put your time and energy* into the BNA and your goals for it, and I'd like to thank you for it.
* Note to all: it's a game, so every second of time and every bit of energy is worth something. It's not like we're getting paid for this.
I'm looking forward to see who steps up and does better

it isn't
I didn't sacrifice all my profits for 4 months to see it go lost because congress and command are having problems again.
It's always the same
When TR or NLSP was commander, shadowukcs was trolling all the time
When beta was commander, everyone was trolling
when shadowukcs was commander, almost everyone was trolling
when crit and fhae were commander, TR was trolling
time to find a way that everyone can live with
Critically appointed me as ingame commander
I ask congress to give me a few days before they appoint someone else.
Give me time to build a small base, that can be used by the next commander
Meanwhile, I would like to make a call to everyone: help me when i ask you for help, because I'll need it

Re: [BNA]Resignation
I'm actually happy you give up. The reason we moved the "national army" (not Crit's and Fhae's private MU) out of the BAF was to avoid it being anything but 2-3 communes with 15 guys getting some tanks and randomly fighting, most even selling tanks on the market because they don't fight enough every day. What has happened ? The names have changed on top; instead of shadowukcs it now said Critically and Fhaemita. And while I do not deny you set up a worse supply system then the one that was already present in BAF, I have not seen either of you do anything else. You have given the DOF task to DonMatteo and have limited him to one time a week because it didn't suit you guys to sit in an IRC Channel at a fixed time more then that.
Critically and Fhaemita, if I called you lazy it's because I'm under the impression you took up a function for nothing else then the title. I have a job which takes me away from home 11 hours a day, I have 2 kids to take care off, I have a social life, 4 grandparent couples that want to see their grandchildren more then once every 3 months, a wife that asks to do more of her weekends then doing the laundry and I have household tasks to take care off. I have chosen to help out in this community and to spend in average 1-2 hours a day working in it and the rest of the time enjoying the game. It's a choice I made, if you don't want to make that kind of choice because that is what accepting this kind of function means, you shouldn't. I often make changes in my engagements in community games when I can't keep doing the work I set out to do.
The flack you get for being in the lead of something comes with the job, learn to cope with it, let it be a lesson of life because it's the same everywhere. Do you think I've never had difficult moments as BTA Commander and Supply Officer or perhaps you want to go through the aTO section and look at what you were doing yourself Fhaemita. Or wait, it's not like I was CP without any opposition. Or perhaps you want to go look at what I've done in a previous life in another game (leader of a group of +/- 100 people) or what I have done in real life (organizing the work and leading of up to 40 people in direct sales when I was 21 or today office manager in a SMB). I'm not a quitter, I'm a fighter. That's where we're different from eachother, the first obstacle you meet, you give up. You want to point a finger at me for giving you criticism ? You really do ?
What amused me most personally is that you dare point fingers to TR and NLSP and say they should take this kind of responsability to see how it is. They freaking did for several months before you and sure did a better job at it. When you were offered help you waved it away. When you were asked to fulfill the role of the national army you refused it. That is what you did. Making a longdreaded public statement is easy because boohoo people told the truth and you didn't want to hear it.
-----------------
Gibberish, If there is noone that wants to take up this kind of responsibility for the national army then we shouldn't have one. That seems only fair to me. We can not do more then what the people of this community are ready to do for eachother but that doesn't mean we should do a bad job either.
Boklevski, this is indeed just a game and we're here to enjoy it. Some enjoy it in different manners then others and I really don't mind. What I do mind is people wanting to be glorified for doing a bad job. I have objections to this in real life as I do in any community game I play. I hope you can understand that too.
I do wish you good luck tecuvo and if you need a hand you can have whatever time I can give to you.

@ Nohjis: don't get too worked up. It's not worth the game overall. Although I understand your vision and position in it.

Sorry Nohjis but you are going way to far especially insinuating that I'm a quitter. You don't know who I am, you barely even know me. Please don't act like you do based on this one thing. You have no fracking clue who I am what I did or where I come from. how dare you have the audacity to make these comments, sorry but I am really seriously pissed about your comment.
I played lots of games, lead groups did a lot of things ingame. I was president of eSouth Africa during a PTO and payed the PTO'ers off to leave without congress approval. Half the active citizens of eSA wanted me gone, the media of eSA was 90% article about wanting me gone for the rest of my term and I got abused and bullied on IRC channel of eSA but I stood by my decision. Don't talk to me about getting flack, I think I've gotten more flack at that moment then you ever will about erepublik but I stood my ground. I was founder and owner of a Star Trek roleplay group with 40 people in it, I got a lot of flack there all the time but I ran it for 4 years, I was owner of a irc channel with 50 people who where active (not idling) in the evenings and I did a lot more. So Don't give me this crap about me running away at the first sign of negative comment because that is completely untrue.
Sorry Nohjijs but you went too far with your post, you made it too personal

Fixed that for you. That's how I feel about it and it might help you understand my perhaps excessive reaction to it. I don't care if I hurt your feelings this time.
Re: [BNA]Resignation
I don't know why i have been targeted in this article, while this sentence is enough to understand the resignation of Critically :
If he didn't had time in one month to publish one article because of school, then yes, he took the good decision to resign and maybe made a mistake when he asked to be General. But it's certainly not because of me, and to call my remarks "bitching", "unsubstantiated accusations", "lies", or trolling doesn't seems fair to me, who always tried to stay constructive. What is done is done, and we should now focus on the future of BNA.Critically wrote:Oh and about the Article, I don’t know about you, but I have school, homework, social life, etc. etc. And I don’t have time to play this game.

Re: [BNA]Resignation
Indeed, what is done, is done. I don't claim to be happy about a lot of things that have happened in the last few weeks, but let's try to retrieve something from this and get the national army we were looking for when we voted for BNA in the first place. I am behind you, tecuvo. Like others have said already, all you need to do is ask.

Regardless of sides or who is to blame, it is sad to see the BNA falter. I hope the best to the organization and the (former) heads of it.
