Resignation as commander
Hi folks
I still remember the day BAF was officially dead.
I still remember the day I replied on Olv007's post that the army was not dead and that I refused to throw away months of work as being an SO (since december 2011).
I also remember the day me and my twinbrother were putting all our ideas together, and we had some brilliant, too ambitious plans.
I still remember the day that former belgian citizens decided to sacrifice their profits to help the new project, BNA. Thanks for that director9!
I still remember the day Olv007 stepped forward to be SO, not much later MaryamQ did the same.
I still remember that Nohjis answered all my questions and gave me a lot of help.
I still remeber the strongest soldiers leaving to join Paras, but in the end they came back home.
I barely remember how we had to face new difficulties all the time, like me being in peru, or USA losing his bonusses. But I remember that BNA faced them all and just kept going.
But nothing lasts forever, neither me being commander.
I've been SO for more or less 10 and a half months, and commander for 5 months.
It were great times, but great times cost time.
And that is what I lack sometimes, time ...
But that's not all. I've done my thing with the army, and I've done enough.
It was a wonderfull adventure, but it may come to an end.
It's like a good movie: a good movie that is too long, is just no good movie anymore.
I'm still polish citizen and I'll stay it for a while.
Not that I don't want to return to this lovely country, but bonusses and their profits are too big in Poland.
After decreasing my personnal development to a minimum, I will now live for myself, not for others.
But someday I'll be knocking on the belgian frontdoor again, shouting to let me in.
All I have to do now, is thank some wonderfull people.
Shadowukcs: You showed me what the best way is to set up a commune system, but it's a system that demands a lot of the SO, and in fact I was the only fool that did it more then 2 months
Director9: well, I already said it, you gave us 5 extra spots before MaryamQ decided to join.
Olv007: tanking everyday, training at full speed and still sacrifying a q7 company is just amazing
Nohjis: you really are my godfather You always answered my questions and gave me some good advice while I needed it.
Cotarius: You convinced me to go for it, together we worked it out and your moral support was the blood running through my veins
MaryamQ: You’re the most wonderful person I’ve met in this game! Can’t thank you enough for what you did for me and BNA.
And I would like to point out that this is just my opinion, and it has nothing to do with the so called "bad atmosphere" in eBelgium. I don't know why, but I've never been affected by it. I think I play this game differently then others do. To me it's more then a game, it's also a project and a communtiy, but nevertheless it's just a stupid game
At last a small note for the community: We always had the famous "2 sides". Some play this game as a game, and they don't care that they are sometimes a bit rude, after all it's a game. They love to do some mudthrowing, after all it's just a game. Others really want to do something for their country, want to get involved in this game, and are not just "playing a game".
There is no right or wrong in this. No black and white or good and evil.
It are 2 beautiful views, but unforunatelly they don't fit each other.
Just try to understand the view of someone else, and see all what they do in that context.
And know that what you do, can be painfull for others, even if it's just a game.
I will continue this game just like I started it, on my own
See ya!

Re: Resignation as commander
for my loan i still have to repay, don't worry, you'll get it back
I still have foods and guns that are property of the state, just as some cc, don't panic, tell me what to do with it and I'll do so

Re: Resignation as commander
/me sad again
Tired of being sad
I did saw this one coming, but I still hoped it wouldn't happen. Perfectly understand your point, but you'll be very very hard to replace. I fear for BNA without you...
Still I would like to say a big thanks for all the work you put in BNA, in the DoFs, the distribution and production of supplies and all the organisation and administration around it.
For the loan, you pay it back to me or the future MoF, MoF will transfer it back to BNB-BNN. For the remaining CC, you can simply return it to me, and I'll transfer it to BNB-BNN, or to the one who will take over distributing supplies. For the remaining food and guns perhaps talk with NLSP or with MoD to see how they want to use them.

I doubt it.
Has the HC come to any sort of decision regarding this, and who will take over the ownership of the in-game MU? better if we can avoid a shadow-esque MU fiasco.

Re: Resignation as commander
Nothing said here can be sufficient to qualify the great work you did with the army. Despite a certain adversity, despite a bunch of people that don't believe the army is worth spending money on, despite being at the center of a great deal of drama you have managed to give the army a life of its own and bring bright months filled with fun and activity for eBelgians who chose to participate. Most importantly you've managed a neutral role being a commander for all who wished to take part, whatever their political opinions.
If it weren't for a working army, other long term projects such as joining an alliance wouldn't have come to a good end. That is another reason to be thankfull. I sincerely hope someone else will have the courage to step up, the courage to keep grandeur within BNA and most importantly, the courage to keep blowing life into it.
I hope you have a great deal of fun without serving the community because after all that's why we play this stupid game. Be safe in Poland, I hear they are specialists at drinking some special water.

Re: Resignation as commander
I've been trying to think what to say to this. In the end, Nohjis has pretty much said it for me. You have done great work, made BNA into a real army, and kept a positive attitude, all while having a busy RL. I am sad for BNA that they have lost such a good leader, but hope you will have a great time in this next phase of your eLife, and that you will keep in touch with your eTwin and schoonzus, as well as others who have come to know and respect you in these last months. As Nohjis says, be safe! You are going to be a hard act to follow.

Re: Resignation as commander
I've no word. Fortunately Nohjis and MaryamQ said them at my place.
It's like if Belgianfries weren't belgian anymore.
We'll miss you so much you know.
Without you, BNA wouldn't be BNA.
Thanks for all.
/me goes in the hands of his ewife to cry

Re: Resignation as commander
Without you BNA won't be the same as before, it was like a shock to learn about your resignation...
Thank you for all the time you used for BNA and your soldiers. If one day you want to come back you will be always welcome !
