They are happy with 2.05 NZD (guru lvl9). So I can sell the grain on 0.06. But normally I the price is 0.07.
Yes, but 2.05 NZD is as much as 20 NLG I guess right now :p
With the NZD being so much worth

Re: Grain Crisis
This is BS, I start my grain company back up a week ago and ever since the wages have been skyrocketing in the USA where it is located. It was about $9.5 for a lvl 5 one week ago and now it is already up to $12.4. There is no way I can sell at .06 here now without taking a loss. I'm not even sure I can sell at .08 without a loss. Aw well we will see what happens.

Re: Grain Crisis
I'm guessing the food one.
Yeah grai from foreign countries isn't cheap. But grain from our own medium grain areas in Belgium can easily seel at 0.06.
Here it's like 0.03 to produce it.
So why import grain?
As for importing food, I have no problem with foreign companies on the market, but I do mind that you want to put 'cheap' food on the market.

Most expensive, yikes. What is your taxes for grain, if they are too high, lower them a bit, it might lower prices.

lol I guess you are talking about our import taxes. And these are unrealistic low.
Taxes have ZERO to do with the high grain prices. If anything we should rase them to a more realistic number. It wouldn't effect the grain price one bit.
Clearly the companies that sell cheaper food get their grain for much better prices or have grain companies.
If you want to blaim anyone it is the big grain suppliers that are make huge profits.
It sounds like a bad joke if one knows that we have a state owned foreign company that easily could produce for 0.04 BEF and still make a profit.

Well for once the communist party could be of assistance to the companies. If we successfully lower grain prices the first who will benefit from this are the companies. We do hope if we succeed the companies will be so honest in lowering food prices as well...
But we first need enough workers! If you really want something to change why not come and work for us?
You can apply for a job here. Above helping your country and its market you will get free food as a bonus!
Set politics aside for a minute and help us help eBelgium!

You are more than welcome.
We will put grain on the market as soon as we have enough stock. Doing anything sooner would be pointless.
Don't forget that you will work for min wages, whatever your stats are but every 5 days you work you will get food.
However you should see this as a service to your country and not aspect to get rich fast or similar...
We really could use you and I promise it will make a difference!

It has started you guys, food companies stopping with production of food (or I missed a battle without knowing)
My company for example stopped all activity now, as long as the grain price is 0.09 I cant make any profit, only big losses

so when someone pay you 13.5bef for 229 grain you threat him like a gold digger and for the one that pay you 0.88bef for 229 grain + 1 food every 5 days is not a gold digger ?
And i put my grain on the market and I sell it to 0.07bef/u
If you want me to fired you, you can always send me a message to ask for, like shadow do and if you not happy with youre wage you can always negociate it
for my food company i buy grain to my grain company at 0.07bef/u so 1 food cost me 0.42bef, i produce 182 food if i pay 1 gold for booster and i sell it to 0.58bef (0.6bef with taxe) 0.58-0.42=0.16*182=29.12bef
on monetary market you can buy 1 gold for 54.48bef -> 29.12-54.48= -25bef
with no booster (only 10%) i produce 66 food -> 0.16*66=10.56bef
so for a week it's 6 days with only 10% booster 10.56*6=63.36bef 63.36-54.48=8.88 + 1gold for a 200% booster (working with booster give me 182 food for the last day of the week) 0.16*182=29.12+8.88=38bef profit a week for 578 food produced -> 5.42bef profit on 82.57 food selled a day -> 0.065bef profit per food, really huge profit...
Re: Grain Crisis
wazowzky, I went against my own believes and started to skip the grain market and produce my own grain
To make it up, I'll use the 0.19g booster today
Still I also support Avegans idea of stabilizing the market, but I couldnt join in as his company was full and by looking at its employees I saw most are active at the forum, so I would only bring production down

Re: Grain Crisis
I've noticed the high price too.
There would be 3 reasons I can think of:
1) european grain cost, that is around 0.0014g/unit; mainly because most european countries are involved in wars which means higher demand and higher cost
2) hidden deals; as there are few players on the grain market and this thing could happen easily
3) "economic resistence fight" - I put it the last on the list because this happens to me for example; I produce grain in eRo that currently has foreign regions (and players) were the "guerilla" war makes you loose a lot of money (hungarian/russian players that work with low wellness for high wage)
I'm currently trying to get lvl 8 or more in my grain company to start importing some to the eBe market. Hope I'll be able to help a little.

Re: Grain Crisis
So what's goin on with the Grain Commune? I can pay attention only late at night, when everything seems to be already happened, so I'm not always very up to date. I saw that the commune put some grain on the market on day 1101, if I'm not mistaken, at a price of 0.07 BEF. Most other companies followed their example soon, but already yesterday (on day 1102) price went back up to 0.09, and I remember clearly that I've also seen the commune offering grain at that price. What is the explanation behind this? Am I missing something again?

Re: Grain Crisis
We have sold 4600 for 0.07BEF
When I saw others followed I was hopeful as well but it seems things changed fast again.
Next time I checked prices where at 0.1 BEF so I put some grain for 0.09 on the market.
Lesson learned. Get a higher stock and put 5K+ on the market.
It would also be great if food companies wouldn't buy up all the stock and leave a few hundreds to get other comp following...
Anyway only a little bit grain was sold for 0.09 and this was only to make the price drop again. Small steps are more perminent.

Re: Grain Crisis
I see. I think you're right, maybe next time it would be better to wait for a high stock (maybe even higher than 5k), and start with a smaller price decrease (0.08), and gradually continue this lower and lower. But I'm not an expert, of course.
I wonder if the other grain producers have some sort of agreement, or is there really more demand than there is supply in eBelgium so that prices keep on rising every time again? In that case more grain companies will be needed to tackle the problem.

Actually I think demand is higher than supply not only in eBelgium but in whole of eRepublik. What explains the biggest reason of the incredible high prices... At least that is what I think.

I agree, it is also the reason why there are created more and more grain companies, eventually this will lead to a downfall of prices
Also because food companies who have enough money will buy their own grain company

as far as I know it was said that even if you work with low health, the employer doesn't feel that.
this was implemented when romania more or less erased hungary and the smart huns started the guerilla war and then "unexpectedly" the admins (which country are they from again, hihi?) changed the system..
