Indeed they are, I can read more or less their forums and basically the main reason is that ENTENTE will not be able to give them RA and Aquitaine back. People are not happy with it and they hope that PHX will put more efforts in this release when France would join them back. Despite this, a lot of people are against as they would be more or less tied up and PHX doesn't seem to give them much back besides those two regions.

Some are also quite angry that only small nations are joining now... Can't really really blame them as they are still quite a superpower themselves. But this resumes quite well the situation :

Phoenix veut juste repousser Eden de très grandes régions qui apportent de grands bénéfices à Eden, et c'est tout. Si nous rejoindrons Phoenix, nous serons sur leurs pattes et nous n'aurons plus de pouvoir décisionnel. L'Entente n'est pas si mal et est suffisante pour nous. Sauf pour les impérialistes bien entendu.

Yes we've organized a referendum in France because it has been something who has always divided the whole eFrench community and we needed to know the people's thoughts about this. There is always been a part of pro-Entente players and pro-Phoenix/anti-Entente players. This referendum wasn't meant to lead to any decision, even if the "enter PHOENIX" had won, it was just to know what the opinions were.

I was part of the team that wrote the governmental article concerning the referendum (you can read it here: http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-rf-entente-ou-phoenix-nous-voulons-votre-avis-1-1399280/1/20). But unfortunately the voting process was launched very fast and there was no article to inform the players about it, the whole organization around the referendum was lame and I was very disappointed that the government didn't took enough time to organize it well while it was one of the most important event of the month. They were also supposed to put 3 choices: "stay in entente", "enter phoenix+leave entente" and "stay in entente as associate member and enter phoenix". But they removed the third possibility for an unknown reason.

The participation rate was, of course, very low and only 234 players were part of it. So a little above the 2%. That means the results are totally useless and not at all representative of the eFrench thoughts. But if you still wants the results, here are they:

1-Stay in Entente 124 52.99 %
2-Enter PHOENIX 93 39.74 %
3-Other 17 7.26 %

Day 940 of the New World is now a famous day in eFrance's history ! The occupation of our country is now officially over ! After 7 months of heavy battles and 7 months of rebellions. Thousands of golds spent, hours spent on IRC and many help from Phoenix, Spain has lost its two last colonies and eFrance is ready to move on.

France thanks all Belgians who fought in this battle, your help was really appreciated. A new page is being turned with a prosperous future for France, I hope.

Actually, I don( know what is going to happen with it. I suppose it will be returned but maybe in a few weeks? I don't know but it's Hungary so I don't expect to see it swapped immediately :p (my opinion)

A friendly occupation is still occupation, so "officially" it isn't over until all original regions have a French flag next to their name (I'm sorry, sometimes I can't help myself being hypercritical ).

Well congratz defeating Spain over Aquitaine. It looked like one heck of an 'off day' for EDEN. As for getting Rhone Alps back from the Huns... Good luck with that. France isn't in Phx so I'm not sure if the two governments will work that out or not.

I don't think it would be a good choice for them to ruin all relationships between our countries. Relationships that has been growing since 7 months now and that are very good since the invasion of Hungary where France did a lot of help. They could do it of course, we aren't in Phoenix but I'm convinced they would lose more afterwards (in respect, dignity and in some battles where they'll miss damages) than they would win with RA.

We are less than 5000 now and it's becoming quite worrying :s

The new MPP rule isn't very good for countries of the size of Belgium, right? You will have to take as much MPPs as possible to be able to defend yourself in case of an attack.

the new rules also make it near impossible to invade us, as you need a DoW now, and I can't imagine anyone paying 1k gold just to be able to invade us ^^
